Our meetings have been held at a variety of locations since early 2008, including the Santa Barbara Hackerspace, RightScale, the Goleta Public Library, the Las Cumbres Observatory, coffeeshops like Java Station, French Press and the Daily Grind, and UCSB departments including the Marine Science Institute, Technology Management Program and Davidson Library.

February 2014 SB Drupal Group Meeting
Hey Guys,
We are planning the next SB Drupal group meeting for February to be at UCSB. We are going to try and organize a carpool for people coming from off campus. So if you would like to save money on parking please share your interest in the comments section.
We will try to have some technical presentations this time. Any volunteers? What topics would you like to discuss?

Greater Los Angeles Drupal Camp (GLADCamp) is a free, 3-day conference for All Things Drupal on March 7th, 8th & 9th, 2014, at the Hilton Pasadena & Convention Center in Pasadena, California.
We're planning a conference that's packed with 3 full days of activities, including sessions, presentations, trainings, topic-based summits, a job fair, a barn raising to benefit a local non-profit, receptions, and more!
Our community members are also planning their own events to coincide with the conference, including client meetings and company retreats.

I just got a copy of the new "Drupal 7 Media" book available from PACKT Publishing (http://bit.ly/19C7xN0). It covers in great detail the best Drupal community modules for media integration. I will post a more detailed review later, but this book looks like a great resource for media integration in Drupal. If you are wondering how to work with media in Drupal 7, this is a book to checkout.

Drupal at the beach!
This year's event will be held in sunny San Diego at the Marina Village Conference Center -- just steps from beaches, Sea World, and the Mission Beach Boardwalk.
Thursday is a full day of training.
Friday and Saturday are two full camp days.
Sunday is fun-day with disc golf, beach activities, and sight-seeing

There's Earth Day for the planet and now there's Dries Day for Drupal. To celebrate, we're asking everyone in the community to spend the day on Drupal community projects: plan a camp, do a training, work on modules, push code, write documentation, read about Drupal 8 or whatever you find interesting. This is not a bad price to pay for all the great stuff in Drupal. If you're an employer, we encourage you to give your employees a paid day to work on Drupal.
