Drupal Books to a Good Home...
Busy downsizing and moving home, I have a whole pile of Drupal books (and 2 Lullabot DVDs) available as a free, job lot to anyone who can get to Perth to collect them in the next week. Mostly Drupal 6, but very good reference for beginners and those trying to understand the Drupal basics.
If no takers, they'll be suitably recycled.

Drupal Drinks Edinburgh: skipping August
Due to the business of the Festival and the fact that historically people haven't been around in August for Drupal Drinks, we'll skip August.
However, if I'm wrong about this, please add a comment to this discussion to show that you're interested: if there are more than a few people, then it could carry on on Thursday 14th August. I can't personally make it, but I'll create a proper event posting if numbers merit it!

Drupal (8?) and external data
Hi All,
I'm looking for some pointers on interfacing Drupal with some external data(bases). In essence I need to read data from other sources (MySQL, a RESTful implementation of xBase and some XML feeds) and combine it with CMS information / pages held in Drupal. I will also need to write to the MySQL instance.
Are there any 'best practise' sites or documents where I can find out more on this type of configuration?
