This is a local user group for sharing knowledge about Drupal and networking with other folks in the greater Seattle web/tech community.
SeaDUG meets monthly to talk about Drupal, to plan related events, and to socialize. During SeaDUG meetings we showcase modules and projects, share tips and tricks, and answer nagging questions about Drupal.
We welcome participants from all skill levels and all disciplines related to website building and development - marketers, project managers, developers, designers, writers, devops, user researchers, QA, and more.
Stay in Touch
- Join the SeaDUG Slack workspace to chat regularly with other SeaDUG community members.
- Follow us on LinkedIn for more frequent news and Drupal-related content sharing.
Jobs
PLEASE do not post job offers in this group unless they are local to Seattle, or remote and open to people who live in Seattle. Any job posted to this group that is not in the Seattle/Puget Sound Metropolitan Area or open to its residents will be promptly removed.

I am trying to get everything set up to use PHPStorm and Xdebug to work on a D7 site for my new job. My local environment is OS X 10.11 with Apache 2.4.18, PHP 5.5, and MySQL 5.7. So far, I haven't been able to get it to work. Here's what I've done so far:
-
Modified the /private/etc/php.ini file with the following settings:
zend_extension="/usr/lib/php/extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20121212/xdebug.so"
xdebug.remote_enable=1
xdebug.remote_mode="jit"
xdebug.remote_port="9000"
xdebug.idekey=PHPSTORM -
Ensured the PHP debug settings in PHPStorm were set correctly.

Flame out on IRC
Flame out on #drupal-seattle IRC (6/15/2016)
[17:53] {jwalling} Is IRC dead?
[17:55] {jwalling} Walking dead IRC
[17:56] {jwalling} With so many alternatives, (Slack Gitter etc.) IRC is becoming a ghost town.
[18:01] {jwalling} For example, you need a playbook to participate in BackdropCMS discussions https://backdropcms.org/resources
[18:02] {jwalling} Is it going to get worse before it gets better?
[18:03] {jwalling} It reminds of the old TV days when you had 3 networks, now there are 5000 channels on 100 media, with more every day

PNW PHP 2016 - Call for papers due June 6
PNW PHP 2016 is a Seattle PHP conference with about 250-350 people in attendance. They're looking for submissions from the Drupal community. It would be great if you all could share this with someone who's been deep in the technical side of Drupal who could speak at a conference (or submit a session if that sounds like you!).
