We have 2 presentations this month on tools to use in developing Drupal sites Docker and Grunt.
Docker. So, you're going to work on a Drupal site. You need to create a local version on your computer. Before you can even start doing productive work, you've got all this work to do: pull the code, grab the database, set up your environment, is it time for lunch yet? Let alone, will your client understand that this must be done before you can actually start addressing their issues? (Yes, clients have issues.)

Agenda: This month's meeting will consist of a presentation on using Behat for Drupal testing and quality assurance. Behat is a framework for automated testing that uses technologies like Mink and Gherkin to provide an incredibly quick and simple platform for writing tests. We'll start with an introduction into the various testing methodologies out there, what works with Drupal, and then demo Behat installation, configuration, and ultimately some tests. By the end of the presentation you'll be wondering why you haven't already been using Behat to test your websites!

We recently started a new group on Linkedin for Drupal. It is still fairly new but the idea is to discuss how it applies for business, discussing high-level topics like User Experience, Content Strategy and open source. I started the group because I couldn't find a group that was actively discussing the non-technical side that people on the business side could relate to.
The group is open to join and I would love it if you guys went and checked it out!

The best of DrupalCon Austin. A number of folks from our group are going to DrupalCon Austin. We're all bringing back the best of what we learned from the sessions, the BoF's and, well, the Austin scene. This is always one of our most popular meetings because so much cutting edge information is shared.
Are you going to DrupalCon Austin? We need you to compile your greatest learnings and come to share.

Panels, panels, panels! Panels are a powerful tool for content layout in a Drupal site and the guys from Oxbow will show tips and tricks they use to make the most of panels.
Wait. Panels alternatives, you say? What about Display Suite? Is Context really a layout function or is it really designed for something completely different?
We convene to eat and socialize starting at 5:45. The actual meeting will start sometime after 6:30. Oxbow Labs is providing the pizza. Monarch is providing the sodas.

This month, we'll have lightning talks on a wide variety of subjects.
Bring your Drupal or technology problems, discoveries, accomplishments, or discussion topics. Each person will kick things off and we'll share, solve and discuss.
If he is in town, Jerad Bittner will talk about some recent project management experience with a large Lullabot client.
Winn Jewett has volunteered to give an overview of how Oxbox uses panels.
In contrast, we can demo Display Suite.
Perhaps David Csonka or some other Monarchian will demo using custom views plugins as validators.

December 2013 Southern Colorado Drupal Meetup
Hey all! With the release of a couple large Space Foundation Drupal projects, I've (Chris Stevens) been asked to co-organize the December Southern Colorado Drupal Meetup. My hopes are to provide some topic options, but leave the floor open to anything anyone wants to discuss (we could even skip Space Foundation stuff altogether if there are other great endeavors).
Potential topics (please check any that sound fun):
* Custom event website tour: www.spacesymposium.org (D7 - could use some tough love if you see anything confusing or strange)
