Same drill as last month folks! :)
Let's go out, have a few beers (or beverage of your choice) and talk Drupal. No agenda, just a bunch of geeks hanging out.
Southside Johnny's seems to be working well so I'll be there at 6:30 and try to get a booth which I'm sure we can fill and hopefully overflow! Come whenever you want, stay as long as you want.

May Southern Colorado Drupal Users Group Meeting
Last month. At our April meeting, we shared a wide variety of information that we gleaned from Drupalcon Chicago:
- Participating in code sprints, simpletest and best practices
- Project management tool overviews like Chiliproject, Harvest, even Google spreadsheets
- Hosting options at Drupalcon Chicago and attendee experiences at Blackmesh
- Efforts at developing new, large modules in our group
- And there was pizza!

So from the discussions in the EduBoF @ Drupalcon, I came back and began playing with Drush. My first attempt was successful and easy to implement. I was able to perform updates on 3 seperate drupal installs (Drupal6, Drupal7, and OpenAtrium) running on my Ubuntu laptop.
However, I decided I would then begin playing with Drush on my development Intranet site (running CentOS). Well, somehow after getting Drush to run (I had to change some php.ini settings), I jacked up my site. I've tried poking around the web looking for some direction but haven't gotten anywhere as of yet.

Hi there,
I'm wondering if anyone out there can help out a php newbie. I'm trying to add a snippet of code to the bottom of a tpl.php file for a block view. The code I'm trying to add is this:

Hey all,
We were discussing Drupalcon in IRC and thought it would be a fun idea to get as many people as possible to wear a DrupalCamp Colorado t-shirts on the last day of Drupalcon Chicago (Thursday, the 10th). We'll be launching the DrupalCamp Colorado 2011 site this week, including opening up registration, so this would be a fun combination of showing our numbers at Drupalcon and bringing some awareness to the camp for next year.

This wiki helps us keep track of who is doing what. The camp announcement has more details on the event. This page is to help volunteers coordinate a bit.
If you want to do something, put your name next to it and get in touch with anyone else who is working on it.
If you want to work on something that's not in the list, add it to the list and put your name next to it.
If you hope someone will work on something but can't work on it yourself, add it to the list and put a ? after it.
Drupalcamp Colorado 2011 June 11th and 12th in Denver
Howdy folks!
Very exciting news here that Drupalcamp Colorado will be June 11th and 12th at Denver's King Center facility on the Auraria campus (next door to the building where it was in 2010).
After a 300+ turnout last year we hope to have 400 people this year and have a limit of about 500. Can we sell out again?
The official camp site is http://2011.drupalcampcolorado.org/
Announcements will also be posted here as we get close to ticket sales, session submission, session voting, and schedule announcement.
Yay Colorado!

I was hoping to share this at the meetup on Tuesday night, but since we got snowed out, I thought I'd share it with the group. I was recently reading that the U.S. House of Representatives is using Drupal now and expects most of the new reps for 2011 to get busy building a Drupal site for themselves. There's an opportunity for small Drupal shops (like some of us) to build sites for these new reps.

Last month. Due to the frigid cold, UCCS closed and we couldn't have our February meeting. (My car wasn't running so well below zero anyway.) So, we're going to cover our February agenda in March and then some.
March meeting. Thousands of our best friends will be at Drupalcon Chicago in March. Some of our SCUG members will be going and are willing to bring back the greatest hits of the conference. We'll be reviewing the conference presentations, discussing their significance and volunteering to bring back presentations on the most popular topics.

Last month. Many thanks to everyone for contributing to our Drupal 7 release party last month. We had our party early, but we got more international visibility. We're so clever!
Caleb Thorne and Bryan Jones demonstrated building a Drupal 7 module. Matt Kleve demo-ed a module that was not yet released; now it is: http://drupal.org/pro.... Rick Nashleanas' wife, Pat, for baking our Drupal 7 cake.

Angie Byron (webchick) is coming to Denver on the 24th-25th to give an extensive tech seminar on Drupal 7. I'm heading up that way for it and just wondering if anyone else from the Springs is planning on going. I can drive so we can carpool, and there are also some other 'bots going to be up there so we can probably work out a cheap hotel room if you're interested.
See here for more details: http://www.lullabot.com/events/workshops/webchick
Look forward to seeing any of you!

At our December meeting, Mike Potter gave a great overview for our first meeting with the student chapter of the Southern Colorado Drupal Users Group.
We will be celebrating the release of Drupal 7. Cake, balloons, the whole enchilada. If you know anyone in the media, this might be something to cover. As a group, we will share the best new features in Drupal 7.
Then, Caleb Thorne and Bryan Jones will give a module development presentation, of course, emphasizing Drupal 7.
If time allows, Rick Nashleanas will share the best on-site SEO (Search Engine Optimization) tips and tricks.
