It has been suggested that I gauge interest for a swing and ballroom dance at DCCO. We're thinking we'd even hire a teacher for folks who may need a little help getting started or a brush up on their steps.
What do folks think about this?

I have a project that I've used Drupal 7, Ubercart 3 on and has already launched. After launch, client informs me of their specialized search needs for products.
The use case is all results matching a string of 3 or more consecutive characters, including a mix of upper case, lower case, numbers and punctuation ('tet' should return anything with tetanus, rgTet9-66, etc) from sku and title field.

December meeting. Winn Jewett from Standstone Media will demo several new sites that they are releasing by our December meeting. Thanks, Winn.
Dinner. Watch the meetup comments if you might want to catch dinner before the meeting. We have been meeting at Thunder and Buttons, but we might switch it up. You never know.
Location. We are in the basement conference room of the Old Colorado City Library. We really appreciate their hospitality. Remember that if you come with a demo requiring command line access to a non-local host, you'll need to teather your phone.

This will be an introductory learn sprint based on the Drupal ladder (http://drupalladder.org/ladder/ee503327-50be-1904-8d04-9499098cad64). Our goal is for every attendee to begin or contiune learning how to contribute to the Drupal project. Even if you do not consider yourself a php developer there are still ways that you can contribute.
Visit the meetup page (http://www.meetup.com/Southern-Colorado-Drupal-Users-Group/events/77028452/) for more information and to RSVP.

Suggested topics for SCUG Sept meetup
Is there something you've always wanted to know about Drupal? Now is your chance. List any topics that you'd like to hear about at our September meetup. Anything Drupal related or of interest to Drupal people (beer?) is fair game.
At August's meeting there was interest in hearing about Symphony (http://www.symfony-project.org/) as it will be the backbone of Drupal 8. This topic is extremely code heavy and mostly for developers. I would gladly learn as much as I can about Symphony (something I need to do anyway) and present my findings.

I'd like to start regular monthly meetups for anyone interested in contributing to the Drupal project. These meetups would be based on the content from http://drupalladder.org and separate from the current presentation style meetups at the beginning of each month. I'd like to schedule an introductory learn sprint (http://drupalladder.org/#learn-sprint) later this month. Location will likely be the Old Colorado City library (http://ppld.org/old-colorado-city-library).
I'm considering the following dates/times:
Tuesday, Aug 21st, 6:30pm - 8:00pm
or
Wednesday, Aug 22nd, 6:30pm - 8:00pm
August 2012 Southern Colorado Drupal Meetup
August's meeting. One or more Monarch folks are going to demo Drush from introduction to our use of Drush's aliases to speed productivity. If you develop sites in Drupal, Drush is a must-use tool. Anyone who regularly uses Drush knows that they are only scratching the surface. This presentation will be an introduction, show some neat tricks and then serve as a show and tell for everyone.
