I just started using Drupal couple of months back and now I am really happy that I made the right choice by selecting Drupal over other CMS products.

I managed to pick up basic architecture of Drupal on my own by going through the documentation/screencasts/etc.

But still I find documentation on advanced topics missing and they are spread over in bits and pieces everywhere. Very hard to bring all that information together.

So I am planning to organize Advanced Drupal Classes / Meetup (Topic based)

I have just released a module for Netbeans to aid in Drupal Development. The module is available on Github (full source included).

The module is just starting out as I re-teach myself Java. I have put together documentation on it here. I do have future features planned on the module as I get the time, but right now it really does help with development. You can also customize the module through a custom template system.

Anyone doing any module development in Drupal?

Like creating custom content types in code?

If so, any suggestions on the best way to theme a custom content type?

I am currently working on a (set of) module(s) to integrate Drupal with CollectiveAccess, an open source PHP collection management system that is focussed towards cataloguing, maintaining and managing collection data. This software is getting quite some traction with museums, archives and other institutions that require digital collections.

I'll be teaching a Drupal class at Madison Area Technical College this Spring, the main theme being module development with PHP, topics like database access, jQuery, RSS feeds, and Google Maps. The prereqs are some background with HTML and CSS and a little PHP (or willingness to learn it quickly).
