Sustainable Drupal development sessions at Drupalcon Copenhagen
Who from the Twin Cities is heading off to Copenhagen for Drupalcon this August? The entire Advantage Labs team is excited to be going. In fact, we have proposed two sessions that will focus sustainable Drupal development strategies based on our experience both as a Drupal company in the Twin Cities and as participants in the local open source user and development communities. If you are attending Drupalcon Copenhagen, let us know -- especially if you have proposed sessions we should vote for.

DrupalCon Communications Love.
This year I took on the role of communications manager for DruapalCon San Francisco 2010. We wanted a lot of people to come and feel the Drupal love at the Moscone Center in Downtown San Francisco. We accomplished that goal. San Francisco was the largest crowd of Drupal people in one place at one time yet. Marketing played a part in that.
Process:
The communications strategy had a few elements to it. I tried to keep the channels simple and focused on areas which produced results. So the here are the main areas I focused on:
DrupalConSF highlights
For anyone who doesn't know, DrupalCon is a biannual conference (in North America during early spring and in Europe during late summer) where people from all over the world get together to discuss all things Drupal. The most recent one was held two weeks ago in San Francisco. 3,000 people were in attendance, more than the last two (Paris and Washington DC) combined, demonstrating continued growth of the Drupal community and interest in Drupal.
There's so much cool stuff happening in Drupal right now, that I won't be able to do it justice in this post. Perhaps I'll add more comments later as I think of stuff that I'm compelled to mention. But for now, I'll just mention what I believe are two of the "you absolutely must know this" things that will change how you develop with and for Drupal.

I originally bought a ticket to Drupalcon San Francisco back in November under Early Bird pricing. As it turns out, I'm closing on a house on Tuesday, smack in the middle of the conference, and I've decided I'm going to stay home in Portland instead.
Is anyone interested in my ticket? It'd be at face value, $150US, and according to the Drupalcon website, we can organize the trade via the organizing committee.
