Civicrm at DrupalCamp Toronto
I'm planning to organize some Civicrm sessions at the upcoming drupalcamp in toronto http://drupalcamptoronto.org/
I'm noticing that the civicanada group (http://groups.drupal.org/civicanada where i'm posting this), which I setup after an ad hoc session on civicrm at the last toronto drupal camp, is pretty defunct. I'm hoping that's due to a lack of leadership on my part rather than a lack of interest in the topic. In any case, if you're interested in helping out, or have some input into the content of such a session, let me know.

Announcing CiviCluster and CiviConference
I've created initial snapshots for CiviCluster and CiviConference for
users of Drupal 5. It may take up to 24 hours for them to appear in the
Drupal.org release system, but they are already in the DRUPAL-5 CVS branch.
CiviCluster will rapidly identify duplicate contacts and walk users
though merging them. CiviCluster supports CiviCRM 1.6 and 1.7 (except
for CiviEvent). CiviCluster will be updated shortly to support CiviEvent
schema changes.

I have a client who wanted to display some google maps using data stored in CiviCRM. I looked at the various projects that mash up CiviCRM and Google maps and the GMap module looked like the right place to start, but the location/civinode/views mix that looked promising didn't pan out. I also noticed the discussion around 'mapthing' below, but that seemed to have died.

Hi,
I've also posted the line 167 issue described below to the CiviCRM Community Mailing List Archives by placing the issue here.
When I go to my Drupal site, I'm able to log in and can click on "administer" with no problems. However, when I click on "modules", I get a completely white screen except for the following one liner at the top:

Recently went through an import of 2.4 million voter file records into CiviCRM. Went through a lot of testing, sharing some preliminary information here on things we discovered. The 'we' used in this document refers to me and other resources within my company, Trellon. Working with recent releases of CiviCRM 1.4.
First, default CiviCRM distros are not suitable for working with massive numbers of records. After importing the 2.4 million records, and before adding any custom fields, the main and advanced search interfaces became unusable. Trying to save information into a contact record became nearly impossible. The reasons for this were myriad and included database design, data access queries, as well as the hardware we were working with initially.

Hi Folks,
I'm just about to start using drupal for our magazine website, and want to know if we might also be able to transition to CiviCRM for subscription management.
Is anyone using it this way - or for someting similar?
What are you using it for, and how well is it working for you?
In Peace,
Sam
