drupal 7 release party

Hi,

Yesterday we have had a good time along with Drupalers during Drupal 7 Release Party in Jakarta. Adding some spices to the event, Mozilla Community Indonesia and Adobe User Group Indonesia also attended the mini gathering and sharing some tips on how to leverage Adobe technology in Drupal environment.

Is anyone interested in a D7 release party on Friday? Dries and Webchick want us to have one :)

We are getting together Monday, so I don't know if it's necessary - but figured I should throw it out there. I would go if others are interested, but I don't feel like planning it - I'm a little planned out right now.

Even if we cannot join the party physically we can still send our best wishes, and raise a glass of something to Drupal7 and the party-goers ;-)

As Drupal 7 will release on January 5th 2011, Drupal community is organizing world-wide local release parties on Friday, January 7th. Any idea to have our local party in Hong Kong?

To celebrate the release of Drupal 7 (http://groups.drupal.org/node/111649), we need your help to answer a few quick questions and help organization:

Where?
Bar, room, office location, any other venues…

Who?
Volunteers (help organization). Users, clients…

Equipment?
Large screen projection, cameras, videos…

Sponsorships?
Drinks, cake…

Ideally we would like to display large druplicon on walls or a large screen. Have a cake, a lot of people and take a lot of pictures.

Yes, as we've all undoubtedly heard by now, Drupal 7 now has an official release date: January 5th, 2011. Simultaneous Drupal 7 launch parties are scheduled across the globe for Friday, January 7th, 2011. (From my understanding, the improvements to D7 are such that this will give us all plenty of time to get our first D7 sites polished and released.)

But! There's no officially scheduled party for Vancouver yet! I KNOW, right?
