Just another PSA here, to let everyone know there's now a Twitter account set up if you want to follow for meetup reminders, etc. at http://twitter.com/vandug. The group admins all have access to the password, and if one of us gets fancy, we'll set up some kind of hashtag retweeter system.

When I mentioned the #drupal-au IRC channel to a work buddy, he didn't believe that people still used IRC as it's too old. I guess IRC clients are not as prevalent now that we have so many different channels, social networking sites, SMS and Chat clients at our fingertips.

I'm on a Mac and I still haven't worked out what IRC client to use but lucky for me there is good one that plugs into Firefox. Do a search for in your addons for Chatzilla. It's easy to use and will get you chatting to Drupal devs right away. Ask anything anytime Drupal related and you probably get a helpful answer.

OK, perhaps we have a way to go before Drupal in South Dakota reaches critical mass. However, if you have Nebraska roots you may be interested in this tweet from Dave Reid.

• DamZ dropped by to discuss some of the issues and strategies surrounding the eventual migration of drupal.org to the versioncontrol api. Maintaining the existing links could be a challenge, since they are dependent on the particular entries in cvs.module's cid field.
