Drupal 8 - Core Initiatives Progress Update - 11/10/11 Edition
Notes:
You’ll hear the words “MVP” thrown around a lot in the update this week. It stands for “Minimum Viable Product”, and it’s a way for us to define what “success” means for each initiative. More to come on this later :)
Also, our next meeting isn’t until Dec 8th, so you won’t see an update over the Thanksgiving holidays because a bunch of us are enjoying turkey.

Nile7.com offers Drupal Services in Egypt (Web desgin and internet marketing companies.)
Dears
On http://www.nile7.com/services we offer many internet marketing services mostly based on Drupla CMS as we consider it the most powerful open source CMS.
I wonder how many companies offer Drupal Service in Egypt ?
In case there are some , we can cooperate with each other so we can enhance and integrate our products and service.
Best Regads.

Drupal 8 - Core Initiatives Progress Update - 10/13/11 Edition
Update on this format: NEW! Props section. The Initiative leaders were excited to start saying thank you to people who are going the extra mile. We do want to thank everyone who contributes, and not just these people, we'll be singling you out occasionally for an extra big thanks.

What this is about:
We've been hearing a lot from the community about wanting more transparency with regard to the Drupal 8 initiatives and their advancement. Every two weeks, the Drupal 8 initiative owners, along with Dries, webchick, and a team of project managers have “scrum of scrum” calls where each person goes around and talks about what they worked on since last time, what they’re going to work on for next time, where they’re blocked, and how the community can help.
Status and Metrics
Stanford ITS has a nice Status and Metrics widget to show when their university network is experiencing problems or other related IT services are experiencing an outage.
Is there a Drupal module that already does this or is custom building a module (or making an application independent of Drupal) the way universities solve this particular need?
Read moreCorrect Format/Headers for Posting to the File Service?
First off let me say I really like the 3.0 version of the services. But I've come to a stumbling block on posting files to the file service that none of the examples have so far been able to answer for me. I'm writing a basic PHP uploader that will then take the submitted image and post it to the file service. This simplified client is as follows:
<?php
$postData = array(
'file' => array(
'file' => base64_encode(file_get_contents($_FILES["Image"]["tmp_name"])),
'filename' => $fileName,
'filesize' => filesize($_FILES["Image"]["tmp_name"]),
'timestamp' => time()
));
Services resource for Product types (from Drupal Commerce)
Dears,
As I need to programmatically create Products in Drupal 7.x and Drupal Commerce, I'm writing a small file based on the skeleton of resources/node_resource.inc.
Right now I'm just able to create products and receive the ID of the created product (which I'm looking to use as a reference for the node creation).
Is this of some interest for this group, should I share this small file - full with errors :-))
Thanks,
David
Media Web Services module
Afternoon,
Due to a need at the company I work for, I am starting to put together the use cases for a web services front end to the Media module.

Idea: Push Engine - Integration with existing Push technologies to streamline Realtime Data Push into Drupal
Brief: I've been digging though all existing modules but non seem to offer anything that can push the data from external sources in realtime.
Advantage: integration of drupal with any of the existing push frameworks can really take drupal out to a brand new horizon.
