Drupal 8 well proceeded with it's readyness. Sure, it's a lot to do to make it ready, but now that the API freeze passed, we should not just wait till it's out...
It's time to start thinking about the next steps towards a stable and healthy Drupal ecosystem: Drupal Contrib needs to be ready too!
Thus we started the initiative to organize local sprints about Drupal 8 Contrib readyness NOW. The word to start contrib ports needs to be spread worldwide.

Droplabs has a huge surplus of new Drupal Watchdog magazines at our original Downtown Los Angeles location. If any organizers of Drupal meetups, conferences and workshops around Southern California want a stack to take back to their meetups, let us know!
These are being offered free of charge. Droplabs doesn't have the resources to ship or deliver these, however, so the only catch is you'll need to come pick them up.

Précis
The Western New York State Drupal User Group https://groups.drupal.org/western-new-york coined the term “mini-camp” for its one-day, nontraditionally located event that was first held on a Saturday in late April, 2013. The benefits of a lower planning overhead, 11 a.m.–5 p.m. session schedule, and unanimous thumbs up of the venue and program inspired us to propose this format as an adjunct to Drupalcamps and Drupalcons.
