Basic example of retrieving a node from a Drupal server using JSON/JQuery?

This might be a dumb question but are there any usable examples of retrieving a node's content and title from a Drupal server using JSON in Javascript? I've scoured Google and Drupal but nothing pops up that is usable. Any quick pointers appreciated. Thanks

Integrating Drupal and Filemaker

I have an existing client that is interested in transitioning to Drupal. All of their data is currently stored in a FileMaker database so we need Drupal to interact with that database.

Question 1 - Does anyone have expertise integrating Drupal and Filemaker?
Question 2 - Any module suggestions?

I'm looking to hire someone to assist with this project.

Thanks,
Dave

LAMP on Virtual Machine, files and development environment in the host (Windows)

I know that Quickserver it's meant to have the dev environment also in the Virtual Machine, but I'm finding more suitable for my case to have the dev environment on Windows.

So I still use LAMP stack, Drush, Aegir, and all that *nix tools that come already with Quickserver but the files and development environment is Windows 7.

Other alternative I was considering is to have a separate dev machine on your LAN instead of a Virtual Machine and share files over the network.
