Welcome to the Minneapolis/St. Paul Drupal Group -- the place to get involved with the Twin Cities Drupal community whether you're new, a core contributor to the Drupal project or somewhere in between. Register for the group to get posting privileges and to be notified of what's going on.
Looking to connect with other local friendly Drupal people? Check out the Events tab for a rundown of our regular meetups and other upcoming Drupal-related events.
You can also join your Drupal peers and mentors in a couple of places:
- Slack tends to be more active these days. Join https://tcdrupal.slack.com. If you need an invite go here to get an automatic invite to the Slack team
- IRC -- #drupal-twin-cities on irc.freenode.net -- to ask questions, propose ideas, socialize. Check out Drupal.org for more info about IRC and Drupal including how to create a new account and connect. Or come to the next local meetup and someone will help you get started.
TC Drupal Quarterly Coordinating Committee
Every three months we have a TC Drupal quarterly coordinating committee meeting. This meeting is open to anyone that wants to discuss upcoming or potential Drupal related events in the Twin Cities. We have been scheduling this meeting prior to the Happy Hour - with the intention of finishing our business in time for everyone to socialize starting at 6:00 (or sooner).
This meeting is not specifically about TC Drupal Camp, but I'm sure that someone will be available to give a quick update on Drupal Camp planning and answer any questions.
Some items that are likely to be on the agenda.

I just got this notice from my hosting company that they are upgrading their servers to PHP 5.4. See below.
Any concerns if I have Drupal 6 or Drupal 7 sites on their servers?
Any info or comments would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Corey
P.S. For some wired reason my Drupal.org account seems to have been deleted? IT was Gasman DEsign and now it's gone?!?!?

Read moreDrupalize.me podcast about TCD'OH!
Last week, Tim Erickson and I had a great time discussing the recent TCDrupal Open House (TCD'OH!) with Addison Berry (add1sun) and local Drupal hero Joe Shindelar for their Drupalize.me podcast. The podcast is now available for your listening and downloading pleasure (you know you'll want to save this one for repeated listens). Check it out -- http://lb.cm/drupalize-tcdoh.
I'd like to think we do a good job of representing the awesomeness that is the TCDrupal community. Feel free to share the link with others so we can spread some TCDrupal love and info.
Extra special thanks to Addi for being a terrific interviewer and to Joe -- both for suggesting that Drupalize.me should highlight TCD'OH! and for his insights during the podcast itself!

Hey MN Drupalers
I found myself in a pickle today because rooms have almost completely sold out in Austin for Drupalcon and I would like to find a place to stay near the event.
I found one with AirBnb that can house 8 - 12 people for our event. The cost would be about $100 a night per person (or less if we have > 8) which is about half the cost of hotels in the area.
Who's interested? Who can commit that they're going to do that?
I'm willing to put the deposit down ($500) but if we do this and you don't show up I'm on the hook for lot of cash.

Read moreAdvice on proposals / contracts
I'm about to begin work on a proposal for my 2nd paid job and am looking for advice re: a proposal format or template, and eventually a contract I can use. I've done a bunch of searching and am not thrilled with anything I've found thus far.
If anyone has a template or example they've used and liked they wouldn't mind sharing, that would be ideal.
I may end up creating my own based on the sources I have found (though I'd prefer not to). Anyone have any "gotchas" I should be sure to avoid, or items I should be sure to include based on personal experiences?

Hey Drupalistas,
It was with a heavy heart that I post this announcement. Even though its had a spotty run the past few months, I've always really enjoyed hosting the Coder Meetup. It was fun getting together with the Drupal Community and hacking on some code. It always reminded me of hanging out in the coder lounge at Camps and Cons.
