Welcome to the Minneapolis/St. Paul Drupal Group -- the place to get involved with the Twin Cities Drupal community whether you're new, a core contributor to the Drupal project or somewhere in between. Register for the group to get posting privileges and to be notified of what's going on.
Looking to connect with other local friendly Drupal people? Check out the Events tab for a rundown of our regular meetups and other upcoming Drupal-related events.
You can also join your Drupal peers and mentors in a couple of places:
- Slack tends to be more active these days. Join https://tcdrupal.slack.com. If you need an invite go here to get an automatic invite to the Slack team
- IRC -- #drupal-twin-cities on irc.freenode.net -- to ask questions, propose ideas, socialize. Check out Drupal.org for more info about IRC and Drupal including how to create a new account and connect. Or come to the next local meetup and someone will help you get started.

A few quick announcements about MidCamp. A few people have asked me if I'm going this year. At this point, I do plan on going and know that a few others are giving it serious consideration. I suspect that there will be carpool and room sharing opportunities.
DEADLINE for sessions submissions is TODAY!
A quick poll of who might be interested in going to MidCamp?

TCDrupal Non-Profit Decision
In December, we put off the decision on forming a non-profit until Jan - with the plan of making sure that everyone had a chance to talk about it - and that we gave sufficient advanced notice on the meeting for Jan. However, the discussion really didn't happen and I've done a really poor job of coordinating and publicizing the meeting.
In consulting with others - there are two opinions on how to move forward.

Well, we've spent another year.
The Holidays and New Year have disrupted our planning so we are pushing Happy Hour to January 15th! The Quarterly Planning meeting is also happening in January, but will be covered separately.
Please join us for our monthly happy hour. If you are new to Drupal, this is the place to rub elbows with local practitioners. Pleased to meet you!

Global Sprint Weekend
Global Sprint weekend is coming up in two weeks on Jan 17th and 18th. I'm envisioning a single day local sprint on either Sat or Sun, but looking for a location.
I expect that we will need space for anywhere from 5-15 sprinters from about 10:00am - 4:00pm.
Let me know if you have any ideas.

TCDrupal Quarterly Coordinating Committee
Our quarterly coordinating committee was scheduled for tomorrow night. However, given the following circumstances, I'd like to propose we postpone this meeting until January.
1) I completely fell down on the job and failed to provide adequate notification/reminders of this meeting.
2) I know that neither Drew Gorton or Barry Madore will be able to attend, both of whom have an interest in our primary agenda item - I'm unsure of who else will be able or unable to attend.
Enjoy Drupal: Site Building Basics
It's time for our seasonal public training, sponsored by the Twin Cities Drupal User Group. We're offering the ever popular introductory course, Enjoy Drupal: Site Building Basics. This time last year, this same class sold out at 109 tickets! We only have room for 50 this year, so reserve your ticket soon.

Based on what was shaping up to be a poor turnout at the December bout, I have successfully changed our VIP section reservation to the February bout. This is actually going to be fairly awesome, because it's the home team semi-finals, so it should be a pretty exciting night.
So our new roller derby outing date is ** Saturday, February 7, 2015. ** Get it on your calendar now!

Forming a TC Drupal Organization or Non-profit
At the last TCDrupal Coordinating Committee the decision about forming a non-profit for TCDrupal was on the agenda. Some members asked for a more detailed proposal before making a decision and the topic was postponed until our December meeting.
