Drupal newsletter recommendations
Hi all,
I'm looking into email newsletter options for Drupal. I've considered some external options, but would appreciate any insights into Drupal modules (Mime Mail, Simplenews... ) that you have used and liked. Any caveats would be welcome too.

Roller Derby Outing
Based on the responses to the interest survey (thank you!), I have submitted a VIP seating inquiry to the Minnesota RollerGirls expressing interest in the smallest VIP seating area (TackleBox, $300, 20 seats max) for any of the upcoming bouts except April. Once I've secured a date through MNRG, we'll move to the next step of getting final RSVPs from everyone interested, then to the final logistics of tickets and payments. Stay tuned!

Tumblr Connect
Is anyone else using the 'Tumblr Connect' moduel? https://www.drupal.org/project/tumblr_connect
I am struggling to get this up and running. I think I finally have the install correct but, whenever I try to create a Blog entry that should be exported to Tumblr I receive the following message and no entry is created (despite what the message reads):
Tumblr may not be available right now, the system will update Tumblr later.
Blog entry test has been created.
Looking for Samples of Network & Information Security and Privacy Policies
I am a front end developer and themer using Drupal 7 with a CiviCRM 4 integration to handle all CRM functions and financial transactions. I have a pretty imperfect understanding of exactly what goes on "under the hood" in terms of how data are stored. And I have just been asked to draft the following policies by Nov 3 to support some newly acquired cyber breach security insurance:
- An enterprise wide network and information security policy
- A formal privacy policy

Star Trek - The Next Improvisation (and Drupal??)
Another social event that has been discussed at recent meet-ups (or after beers at happy hour) has been the production of Star Trek - The Next Improvisation. This is a fully improvised episode of Star Trek (based upon the next generation).
Only two shows remain. Tonight and next Saturday. I can't go next Saturday, so I'm going tonight with my daughter and two of her friends. If any Drupalers would like to join me, the more the merrier.
Tickets are $12 for two shows. Star Trek (8:00pm) & The Mess (9:30pm).

We're interested in finding out more about the hosting needs of the Drupal community. We've set up a simple survey for this, and will at some point be asking everyone to pitch in and answer some questions. The survey is currently a little on the crude side, but we'd like to ask some of you in the local communities of the Twin Cities and Wisconsin to make a stab at answering the survey so that we can get some feedback and tweak it before putting it out on Planet Drupal.

TC Drupal Coordinating Committee (3rd Quarter)
Every three months we have a TC Drupal quarterly coordinating committee meeting. This meeting is open to anyone that wants to discuss upcoming or potential Drupal related events in the Twin Cities (or surrounding areas). We have been scheduling this meeting prior to the Happy Hour - with the intention of finishing our business in time for everyone to socialize starting at 6:00 (or sooner).
Anyone that attends the meeting is a member of the TC Drupal Coordinating Committee.

ArtiCulture.org is a nonprofit located in Minneapolis with a mission to empower individuals and communities to create positive change through the visual arts. Our current site is built on Drupal and we are in need of getting the site updated with two critical functionalities that directly impact our day to day operations. The original team that built our site is no longer around and we do not have any expertise to get this update done on our own.
1) Ability for users to select class time/date
2) Ability for users to pay on our site for the registered classes
Request for Proposal - Site Migration and Redesign
The College of Biological Sciences at the University of Minnesota is looking for a qualified vendor to visually redesign our current site and migrate it to another hosting solution. The current site is hosted in Drupal 7.
