The 2006, with the explosions of huge video based community websites such as Youtube, has shown how video contents are becoming one of the most direct and cool to use web communication approach.
Drupal, as a leading open source content management platform, absolutely needs a good and globally accepted video content approach.
This group aims to get ideas and coordinating efforts between the different people involved in the video content development. The goal is to provide drupal with an easy, powerful and extensible support for videos.

I released video module 7.x-2.1-alpha2 version on 11th of Sep. This major version completely redesign the video module and its core, I'm the only one worked on this release and seems our co-maintainers (6.x) had no time to contribute code to the 7.x yet. I'm very very happy about the progress of downloading and using video module. It has over 10,500+ usage now.

Drupal 7 and "URL Video"
Our current site on Drupal 6.22 uses the "URL Video" function in the Video module v6.x-2.9. I am trying to upgrade to Drupal 7 and have spent considerable time searching for the same functionality.
Use case: We have a video conference system that records content and we have developed processes to convert recordings to FLV format and FTP them to a web server. We then create nodes in the Drupal web site, running on a different web server, and specifying the URL to the content it plays in FlowPlayer embedded in the node.

1.SAE: sina app engine , belong to sina.com (China), it's a service like google app engine ,but provide PHP hosting and mysql hosting and more! well , i think it's better than GAE, because i only know php but not python/java. It declare itself cloud service. And better than GAE, it use SVN.
2.Since it offer php and mysql hosting , drupal can be hosted. But a little hack to install.php , nothing more hack
Video module now compatible with WYSIWYG
Today I released new beta version of the video module, we have fixed lot of core issues on the video module, wiped out unwanted code, formatted code to match coding standards and lot more.
Module Required : WYSIWYG
In feature wise we could add WYSIWYG module support. In WYSIWYG setting button and plugin you can see option to enable video button.

D6 video module
Hi everyone,
I've now spent hours to make the D6 work with zencoder and S3, without any success!
I get "Video submission queued for transfer to your Amazon S3 server. Will be there shortly." every time I upload new video, but it never uploads to S3.
Does anyone know what's wrong?
I can send admin-login if you want to look and the configurations.

My requirements are for the gallery:-
- Should use tags in a video so that it can be use to sort.

Hi, I'm Nadia from Italy, first time in this group, quite new in Drupal world and not a programmer nor a webmaster/designer!
I've got a little website I want to use in order to teach computer to italian over60 and I'm in bad need to insert (is it embedd in english?!) in it some little videotutorial.
The video will be on my webserver and I'm the only one authorized to upload, while users will simply play them and registered users also download them!
