My in-house IT department will be building the Drupal works for a redesigned Web site. I'm planning to hire an outside designer and IA to create the new structure and design. My question is, what type of deliverables do the designer and IA need to create to ensure that the things they conceive are buildable in Drupal?
Thank you!

Read moreAnonymous SESSION vars and Boost caching a bad match?
Is there a known problem with Drupal losing/corrupting SESSION variables for anonymous users when caching is active?
If there is, could someone point me to some detailed info? I've searched around quite a bit and found scattered reports of people struggling to control this kind of SESSION data for anonymous users unsuccessfully, but I'm unable to find anything that conclusively explains why this is so.
Situation is this:

We are yet planning a school management solution for a school in. We use Drupal for our school and alumni sites.
Here is a list of benefits and functionality we are looking at. Is this doable with Drupal or will we need a proprietary solution. Are there any open source solutions for this use case?
1.An interactive platform for all entities and stakeholders viz. Students, Parents, Teachers, Management, Administrators and the Alumni of the school.
2.connects all the departments of an institution and knits them into a complete whole
Colorbox
It seems that colorbox is a very formidable solution for the various *boxes designed for D7. It is light weight and easy to configure for images. I have already customized it for the images. It says that it also has support for the login/registration and showing up various links in the overlay. Many people have also been able to do so. And there is instruction there in the page for doing so. But the instruction is vague. I don't seem to understand where should i place the codes mentioned there. Here is an example:
"Load a selection of forms in a Colorbox:

Web managers, what terms would you use to search for information about site management and administraton on drupal.org?
dupes on webform submissions?
has anyone seen webform create duplicate, or even triplicate submissions?
i know sometimes users get impatient and will click more than once, also that fingers can just slip, but it seems we're seeing a lot more of this just recently related to some adjustments we made
seems like i've received dupes off drupal mailing lists myself before and am curious if there are obvious places to look to try to track this down

Help with Superblog module
I am still very new to Drupal and I inherited our website which uses a superblog module for blogging. I can't figure out how to add blogging to our senior page. Is anyone familiar with this module?
If you want to see the site, it is http://www.cvlga.org. Our childrens page has blogging capability and I just want to add that option to the senior page.
Thanks in advance.

When you're working with a Drupal site, what are all the types of content that you might encounter? This is an early step when forming your overall content strategy.
Add your own!
Creation and maintenance
- Primary content, e.g. nodes (pages or main page content; also partial content in case of lead-in text where main content may be a list view)
- Types of nodes, e.g. articles, blog posts, documents, events, news, stories
- Views, Panels and other dynamic content (custom displays of database queries; pages incorporating several distinct dynamic elements)
Documentation Tools
What tools/modules do you use for site Documentation? I'm looking at using Book module and the plethora of add-on modules to make it more usable for our site help docs. What we have right now is a mess of unrelated nodes and it's hard to find anything. The site topics will encompass a wide array of software our IT department supports and tutorials and videos to walk new users through various tasks.
What tools do you use?

What is your preferred editor? Since I started using Drupal I've been using FCKEditor and now CKEditor. I tested out lots of editors in the beginning but settled on this one. I also use CKFinder to handle file management. I prefer using it over IMCE, because I seem to have greater control.
Do you have reasons for your preferred editor? Any favorite toolbar configurations?
Read moreTime lag on content updates within Panels?
Text blocks on Panel pages and content in slideshows on Panel pages don't always update right away when edited or added -- the same way as, say, edits to instances of simple content types.
Flushing caches will usually force the updates through so anonymous viewers can see the same content as admin.
Is the delay purely dependent on the caching rules in place on an individual site or is there something standard about how soon updates -- to nodequeue content, for instance -- become published?
Can flushing caches this way be a bad thing, if your site is not high volume?

After months of tinkering with our Drupal distro and the custom theme to go with it, I finally got a chance this weekend to run a user test. The subject, Diana is not computer savvy. For example, a link or button has to look click-able (shouldn't it always!) for her to click it. When I asked her to create a blog post, she clicked the blog navigation link and wondered why there was no form for her to complete. She did not immediately see the "Create content" link. Diana uses a Mac and admits she is right brain dominant.
