Developing Drupal under Mac OSX environment but hosting it under a Linux/Window server
Hi
Just wondering whether it is possible to develop a drupal site under the Mac OSX environment but later host it under a Linux/Window server? I know it's weird but finding a Mac OSX hosting service in Hong Kong is damn hard. Unless someone can advice me where I can find one here in Hong Kong.
Thanks in advance.

I'm trying to learn D6 + Zen theming with a designer friend of mine. We haven't done much yet, just set up D6 with a Zen subtheme folder ready. I guess that's a prerequisite for everyone wanting to join. Other than that, please read up on the theming guide:
The Drupal Handbook
The Drupal Theming Guide
The Zen theme

Anyone has tried developing Drupal themes with Dreamweaver? Working with the template files proves to be a bit too much for my designers. I need to find an easier way for them to develop new themes.

Team registration for Civicrm
I am trying to use Civicrm/Drupal for a fundraising event, and run into some problems with team registration.
This is the discussion topic in Civicrm

Follow up on our conversation at WordCamp, Andy and Ian from the British Council will be coming to the meeting to talk about their site. (Link?)
Last time we had Dave talk about "Dave's list of recommended modules". This time, we have Andy and Ian's list of "Modules to Avoid"! So, come and share your experiences with horrible modules!
This will be a "showcase meetup", everyone should plan on showcasing their own drupal site and talk a little bit about how they did it and troubles they encountered.
See y'all on the 30th.

Read moreShortcuts to var_dump and the like
Inspired by Dave's presentation last night, I stumbled upon a blog posting listing a few development shortcut functions:
* dpr – Shortcut for dprint_r.
* dvr – Similar to dpr, but uses var_dump instead of print_r.
* dpm – Similar to dpr but print_r's a variable as a message using drupal_set_message.
* dvm – Similar to dpm but uses var_dump instead of print_r.

New Year's is over, we haven't had a real meetup in the last 3 months, and there's a dozen new members in this group. So it's time for a meetup!
We'll be meeting at SOHO Life (whose site we recently redid in Drupal in exchange for meeting space)

Lets have another meetup!
New Year's is over, and Nick will be back from the states shortly. Let's have another HKDUG meetup! I see there's maybe a dozen new members of this Drupal Group since we had our last meetup. Welcome.
Here's some suggestions for topics:
- I've asked Andy if he'd give us a tour of one of his sites.
- Caphun I think it'd be real cool if you gave us an overview of what is jQuery and how to start using it.
- Antonio maybe you could show us how you tackle a specific problem on the HK mag site.
Drupal newbie in need of advice
Hi guys,
I was hoping that someone could give me some advice about my Web 2.0 website i am trying to build.
After looking at the options I thought Drupal would be the best thing to use, but the website i'm trying to build is pretty difficult, so I'd like some guidance on whether I should get outsider help or continue trying to build it using Drupal myself.
I'm guessing that I need some help but if someone (who knows Drupal) could help confirm this that would be fantastic, and get me going in the right direction again.
Thanks,
Jay Liu
