How to identify if a user has 'clicked' the edit tab of an entity (as opposed to the view tab/page)?

Hi everyone

I've looked everywhere and cannot appear to find an answer to a problem I have and was hoping that someone might be able to advise.

To cut a long story short Profile2 permissions do not appear to be working properly whereby if you want a certain profile to exclude an authenticated user from being able to 'edit' the profile and only 'view' this is not possible (basically permissions only appear to work for Admin) - [for those that are interested please see http://drupal.org/node/1954290]

Is it possible to hide parts of a returning URL from the users address bar?

I'm not sure if I'm asking the impossible here but is it possible to hide part of a returning URL from a User's address bar to a Drupal site.

The reason I am asking is that I am firing a Rule on a user returning to a particular URL (which they will have been automatically redirected to from another non-Drupal website) which assigns them user points. Obviously I don't want people to cotton onto this URL that is firing the points Rule, otherwise they might tell other users to visit the pages to receive points hence the original question, is there a way to hide part of this URL?

Is it possible to pre-populate an empty field (of any type) with data?

I've been stuck on this issue all day now. Is there a way to pre-populate an 'empty' field of any type with data?

I've tried Rules, specifically 'Set a data value' but it does not appear to allow data values to be set on empty fields and usually reports back (in 'Recent Log Messages') 'The variable or parameter entity is empty'.

The reason I need this is that I have a 'profile type' (using Profile2) with various fields. These fields are updated - when required - using VBO (Views Bulk Operations) and unfortunately they can only be updated by VBO if the fields have existing content.

How can I easily and frequently distribute links to URL's so only selected users can view the link?

I have a site where I need to frequently send URL links to select users at any given time. These links are to surveys, so essentially the survey link at the time can only be passed to users that fit/screen to the requirement.

At the moment I have a View where I can easily screen the users using exposed filters but cannot work out how to send these users the specific URL link? Additionally, after any given time the URL link will become redundant so I then need to be able to remove the link for their View when this happens (I don't want them to see expired links).

Views - is it possible to pull in user's passwords?

Hi

Is it possible to pull Users password's into a Drupal View?

I've checked the 'User' fields in the Views but cannot seem to see anywhere that mentions passwords?

I just need it for an overall administration view.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Views - Aggregate Sum - Help!

Hi

I have a very simple view to test the 'SUM' aggregation type but I cannot get it to work. All I am trying to do is sum the values of two content types decimal fields.

I have one column with content title and one column with value.

Please note I have 'aggregate' on, I have no sort criteria and no relationships or contexts to make things easier, the title column is on aggregation type 'group results together' and the value aggregation type 'SUM' with Group Column 'Value'.

No matter what I do I cannot get the column to sum?

Please note COUNT works.

Views - how to pull a 'Node References' associated fields & data whilst it sits in a 'Field Collection'?

Hi

If anyone can advise it would be most appreciated as I've been stuck on this for over 48 hours.

I can pull fields and their associated data into a View from two content types using a 'node reference' field type and specifying a 'relationship' within the View but for some reason I cannot appear to do this when the 'node reference field' is contained within a Field Collection. In this instance all it will do is bring back the field titles but without the data.

So to be clear, I have the following:

  • a 'Client Information' content type (ct);
  • a 'Job' ct;

Sudden and random loss of CSS Styles on local dev - MAMP 2.1.1

Not sure if anyone can help me but having some very strange css rendering problems on my new mac setup using MAMP 2.1.1.

I'm not sure what's going on but most of my local sites (drupal and lime survey) are unable to render the css styles attached to them. Even more oddly, a recent site that had been rendering all styles has suddenly stopped rendering some styles?

Similarly Lime Survey Version 1 is not rendering styles but Lime Survey 2 is???

How to share, synchronise and update/edit a field across content types?

Hi

I'm not sure if I'm missing something obvious in Drupal 7 but is there a way to share, synchronise and update/edit a field within a content type?

I have two content types that require the same field which relates to 'project status' (this would include statuses such as 'provision', 'live', 'cancelled' etc but in fact around 20+ statuses). Each content types must have the same status and thus be synchronised so any change in one must be reflected in the other.

Is there a way of doing this.

How to show a view in the 'edit' page of a content type?

Does anyone know of a way to show a 'view' in the edit page of a content type (I can show it in the usual view page i.e. not edit)?

Basically when the user is editing the content type he needs to see the view (by somehow adding it as a field type?).

Any help would be most appreciated.

Thank you

Stephen

Cannot upload file through contact form on D7 - Help for File Upload on 10.04 LTS

Hi everyone

I cannot appear to get the file upload to work on the following link:

http://www.cerebraluk.com/contact_us

I upload the file and get:

Notice: Undefined index: #field_name in file_managed_file_save_upload() (line 637 of /srv/www/domain.com/public_html/modules/file/file.module).
The file could not be uploaded.

It doesn't appear to be anything to with roles/permissions as even when I'm logged in as admin it still won't upload and I still get the same message.

Live site navigation not working - http://www.cerebraluk.com/

Hi all

I've just uploaded a D7 site to my Ubuntu LTS server and even though the home page comes up none of the navigation links work. I had a similar problem over a year ago but for the life of me can't remember how I fixed it?

See http://www.cerebraluk.com/ for the problem site in question and try and navigation tab.

I have other D7 sites running on this server with no issues so cannot work out what I may have done differently??

Any help or advice would be most appreciated.

Thank you

Stephen

Total newby

I'm a total newby to Drupal, I've managed to get Drupal 7 installed, and I've got some content in place. I'd really like to add a wysiwyg editor to ease text entry sometimes. I'm really having problems getting a wysiwyg editor installed. I want to be able to go to plain text too, in order to have greater control.

I live in the Mansfield area of Nottinghamshire, I'm willing to travel in order to have some guru give me a few pointers and maybe show me where I'm going wrong.

Please help.....

Views (Table Format) - how to show ONLY those fields that have been filtered as opposed to all fields?

I have a view showing a table with say about 20 fields attached to it and exposed filters for all these fields. My question is assuming I am only filtering on 5 fields how can I ensure the table only shows these 5 fields that I have filtered as opposed to bringing back the results but still showing all the other fields as well?

Drupal 7 Fields - how to associate fields to each other?

Is there a way in which to associate fields in Drupal 7?

For example I have two content types (1) is a client information form that has the client's business name and all the details of all the relevant persons we deal with from that company (there could be up to 40+ people) i.e their tel numbers, email addresses, etc and (2) is a client job form which details a specific job (we could do 100's of separate jobs just for the one company).

General Discussion - Different User Registrations (Create new accounts) - The best methods/best practices?

Hi everyone

I just thought I'd try and get a discussion going regarding 'user registration/creating a new account' and what people think the best methods/best practices are for this?

The discussion springs from my own current requirements and a general confusion in terms of the best way to go. Standard D7 user registration vs Profile2 vs Any other known system of combination?

User registration date on Profile2 - how to record and pull into a view?

Hi

I've been picking my brains and am trying to something which I feel should be simple but can't get my head around it.

All I want to do is record user registration date and time and bring them through on a view i.e. I can see user profiles and particularly the date and time they joined.

I am using Profile2 so I'm not sure if this has any bearing on this?

I'm assuming Drupal automatically records this info but can't think where to pull it from?

Thank you
