Hello folks,

I have updated the Linkpoint API for the ecommerce module - for drupal 5.x. The module has been tested and I think up to Drupal's standards. I applied for a cvs account but was denied since the module already exist. AjK (I guess he manages the cvs accounts) wrote back and said to contact the maintainer, which the old 4.6 linkpoint_api.module has:

v3 of E-Commerce the main goal was to stabilize E-Commerce and make it run better. I think we did pretty good, a major leap forward over v2. How ever there are still a few problems which we are addressing.

v4's main goal is to improve the api's and make it so that it is easier to manage, and improve functionality across the system with very little effort. So in doing this and being able to improve the product API I found that the this big function called hook_productapi() was becoming more of a problem than what it was worth.

New payment module - how to contribute? How to migrate to D5?

Hope this is the right place to ask.

I have a drupal 4.7 payment module created for interwallet. I want to migrate it to Drupal 5 and contribute it back to the community.

I have the following questions:

Is there a difference between Drupal 4.7 and Drupal 5 payment API?
Is the module supposed to work as-is, after a standard Drupal 5 module migration process, or are there any other changes I need to make?
Where to put it when I contribute it? Should I put it under the 'contrib' subdirectory of the e-commerce package? Or should I make it a separate drupal module?

Each user has own store?

Am I crazy or do I seem to remember that the ability exists within E-commerce for each user to have their own store? I've scoured the settings and d.o but can't find anything. Is this feature still available?

I am having a little trouble solving a problem and would like to pick the brains of the e-commerce experts ;-)

First off I using Drupal 4.7

Ecommerce version is 2.1

As my clients do not process credit cards online, they use the COD payment type to complete the transaction and then contact the purchaser to finalize payment. They also have a Onfile payment type which I created which is just a clone of the COD Module so purchasers can indicate that they want to use a credit card that the site has on file.

E-Commerce Schedule and Deadlines

Guys,

is there a schedule or deadlines to ecommerce development?
How to define wich features should be created/updated to new releases?
There are more than 50 issues marked as "Patch - review" and hundreds of active issues to be evaluated.
I believe its important to determinate a deadline or a footprint to next releases. Its good to do a follow up and see cleary where we are on slow motion and where we are advancing well.

Inventory + Tax problems

While assessing E-Commerce I came across the following problems:

Inventory tracking:

Inventory tracking seems to fall apart at the checkout. I set the number in stock to 1 and then changed the quanty, on the cart page, to 17 and there were no errors and I could checkout with this quantity.
There is Qty for the File product? Perhaps people want to buy the right for others to use the file but it seems unlikely.

Tax:

I updated to the latest dev version and many things stopped working. First of all, I tried to add something to my card and got this error on checkout:

Fatal error: _flexicharge_load_charges() Path/to/flexicharge/module/ line 122 <-- I didn't copy the error for exact wording but that was the jist of it.

Then I logged out and when I tried to log back in Drupal wouldn't accept my info. It just kept putting me back at the front page in an un-logged in state.

New Subproducts API for v4

Guys,

I just commited the new Subproducts API for ECv4. its basicly the EC Live Subproducts module with some new stuff.

I know many never used the subproducts module before, but since its a total reconstruction, i ask you to test and point any bug or strange layout/behaviour. New users and people that will update from previous subproduct data are welcome to test. And it doesnt hurt to remember: back up everything before!

Shipping API & shipcalc

I'm experiencing an issue where, when I enable those two modules my store stops working. I've outlined all the problems in this thread.

I'd like to get everything working correctly, but I have a separate issue that needs attention too.

The site I'm currently developing needs to have and incomplete checkout. What I'm looking to do is:

have customers put all their items in their cart.
check out their purchase.
choose payment method.
not process payment.
suspend checkout with a 'pending' status.

IE 1-10 widgets costs $5 each
10 to 25 cost $4 each
25 to 100 cost $3 each

I have a case where I have a few stores set up right now that are all running on different servers each with their own SSL and everything. I have put some thought into this and am thinking it would be best in the future if I had just 1 main secure website that handles all the transactions from any of my sites. The only problem is I am not quite sure all the way on how to achieve this. Is there some type of module I could use that will transfer data from a store/ecommerce site to a payment site? If not, would I basically need to develop some type of payment module that plugs in?

I am using Authorize.net as a payment gateway .

The transaction type (x_type) is hard code to AUTH_CAPTURE which means that all transactions will be settled upon submission. I can change this setting to AUTH_ONLY which allows for charging at an ulterior time.

is it possible to manipulate the e-commerce module for making it possible to buy up to 100.000.000 units of a product???

it have only be possible to order the product. Not to pay or ship. (I need this for a shop-system, where virtual products will be sold (inside a browser game))

Purpose of Region module?

I've been looking at what the Region module does, and I am excited at its potential... however... I still don't see that anything actually utilizes it (other than the obvious reasons to use it in flexicharge). Nor have I come across any documentation or discussion about it.

I'd like to find out more about it, as I am working on a couple of international projects that I think would greatly benefit from implementing the power of setting up countries to be within Regions.
