Originally announced as a comprehensive weekend exploration of all facets of the Drupal content management system, the First Annual GLADCamp (Greater Los Angeles Drupal Camp), originally set for April 26th-28th at USC, has been postponed to 2014.
Regardless of the professional conflicts which prevent a free, 100% volunteer-run conference originally envisioned for the Drupal community from occurring at this time, GLADCamp declares confidently that it will announce a brand-new date and venue as soon as both can be secured and confirmed.

It is a pretty good turn out with 11 people considering it is in Pasadena right around rush hours. People are just terrific, very friendly and ready to help others. Feels like I have moved forward by leaps and bounds. Thanks everyone!
Name the Greater Los Angeles Drupal (GLAD) mascot!
We have a new logo for GLAD, our Greater Los Angeles Drupal group!
Update: voting for the name has begun at https://drupal.la/node/34
A couple names have been floating around already and I thought it would be fun to have a naming contest. Once we have a list of name suggestions, we can run a poll and use voting to declare a winner.

This logo is a big step forward for GLAD. We'll be using it for all the print materials for GLADCamp, our upcoming Greater Los Angeles Drupal Camp, as well as on sign-in sheets at our meetups, and everywhere GLAD has an online presence, including Twitter, Google+ and Facebook.
I hope you all enjoy, and let the naming contest begin!

GLADCamp: Spreading the Word
So in preparation for tomorrow's meeting at Droplabs, I am piecing together list of specific Drupal shops/data centers to target, split largely by location. The first phase is to contact these places by either phone or email, and then to arrange a meeting with them to discuss additional participation. A Powerpoint or other form of presentation will be created that each of us can use for these presentations, wherever we do them.

Last month we had a good meeting with presentations on Workgroup and GLAD a year in review. Because of the ways the dates fall this month the meeting is early the 16 th is the third Thursday. I will be good to get together again and kick off the new year.
We do not have any presentations at this time but I we will discuss these in the comments. Normally we run out of time before we run out of topics so there should not be any worries of a dead meeting.
GLADCamp is just around the corner. This is taking place in the San Gabriel Valley so there should not be any reason us to not be involved. Besides attending we need to look for ways we can volunteer to help make the event amazing!
Come ready to share all your tips.

So as some of us already are starting to feel in their bones, GLADCamp 2014 is fast approaching, so it has fallen onto me to organize as much of us as can be assembled for an organizational meeting. Stewart and Oliver, I hope I can see you there at the very least.
So right now, I figure it might make sense to coordinate schedules to meet up within the next two weeks. What does, say, next Sunday or Monday look like for everybody, the 19th-20th look like for everybody? Let me know that asap so we can get something dialed in that will work for everybody.
