Gladcamp Sprint

Is anybody interested in having a Gladcamp sprint this weekend? We can work on the website and content. Or anything else that needs work, sponsorship, the nonprofit summit, the extreme games, the job fair, install fest, trainings, etc.

After taking some time off, we're excited to announce that Hollywood Drupal is starting up again and this time we're being hosted by our friends at Ciplex. This meetup features a presentation by Matt Giacomazzo on Bootstrap 3.0 & Drupal 7. We'll also have a group discussion and GLADCamp Preview sneak peak of all the events coming up during the upcoming Greater Los Angeles Drupal Camp on March 7th, 8th & 9th, 2014.

We're having another Drupal employers summit! Invitations are being sent out for this special event, which is during the evening on Friday, March 7th.
Our last summit was at Droplabs in January, 2013, and half a dozen Greater Los Angeles Area companies offering Drupal services were represented. This time, we're partnering with GLADCamp and are having our summit at the Hilton Pasadena & Convention Center on Friday, March 7th.
About the Employers Summit
This event is a roll-up-your-sleeves working meeting for companies and organizations who use and depend on Drupal, as well as its healthy business community and marketplace. We'll be meeting one another (many for the first time) and discussing the following topics:
- Building a healthy marketplace of colleagues and potential partners;
- Getting the most out of our recruiting and marketing dollar;
- What we're doing now to staff up, from local recruiting and in-house training to outsourcing and hiring out-of-town or overseas;
- Identifying the skills, job titles and qualifications of desirable candidates, employees and vendors;
- Workshops, trainings and other programs that most or all of us can get behind in order to solve our business needs.

My apologies for the last-minute notice, but a small group of us will be meeting at the Hilton Pasadena & Convention Center today after close of business. Join us!
We'll be taking a look at the venue and will be finalizing a few venue details, including the registration area, sponsor booths, pre-conference storage for our sponsors, etc., for next month's Greater Los Angeles Drupal Camp. After the tour, we'll be getting a drink at Grill 168 to further plan and discuss the venue.

This month's meetup is being adjusted for our organizers' schedules and we're going 100% virtual this time. Join us via WebEx for community news, job announcements and Drupal presentations. That's right, there is not an in-person component being planned for this meetup. If anyone would like to physically host a group, offer some food and drinks and tune in together to the show, just post a comment below. There is no need to contact any of the meetup organizers.

A new look for the Greater Los Angeles Drupal Camp has been unveiled. “VLADCamp” is the new name of the conference, co-organized by Greater Los Angeles Drupal organizing team member Christefano Reyes, who announced the name as it epitomizes the goals for the organization moving forward.
“GLADCamp was originally envisioned as being the Drupal community's marquee event of the year that heavily focuses on the needs of non-profits, education and civic engagement. After trying 'Drupal for Good' this year, we decided that 'Drupal for Evil' would be more fun,” he explained.

At this meetup we're having another Drupal Show & Tell. After some quick introductions and light news and announcements, we'll be going into 5-minute presentations (called lightning talks) on the projects that each person is working on. We won't be able to get to everyone, but everyone who attends will be expected to present on something.
Did you recently attend a great Drupal or tech event that you want to tell us about? Are you currently having a problem that you need help with? Did you solve a problem recently and now have a solution to share with the group? You'll have up to 5 minutes to present and then up to 5 more minutes for Q&A with the other attendees. We'll be using a chess clock to make sure that everyone has enough time.
That's right, it's like Drupal speed chess! (The difference, of course, is that we're not really competing. We're here to share and learn and not "smack down" anybody.)
