Progress on content for the Drupal Camp being planned for Western Massachusetts in January goes here.

Last night we had our first serious planning session at the meetup of this group. Here is a Google doc started by Jacob that all can look and contribute to who want to be involved in the planning of this event: https://docs2.google.com/document/d/1wRlg5wK__aYp3UQACBzj_F1BeJw8cRYPXcn...

As a start, I identified the organizer of the CT meetup drmarkafiedman (http://groups.drupal.org/user/39174) as a potential speaker who could help us be relevant to a community of Drupal-curious developers who are not (yet) hooked. His potential talk listed in the NoHo web developers meetup (http://www.meetup.com/nohowebdev/ideas/203946/) would be great at the camp, for example.

I'm also meeting up with a Western Mass "Developers Group" tonight at 7 pm at Panera Bread in Hadley to try and gauge and create interest in the upcoming Drupal Camp. Will report back.

Some possible speakers

Dear all,

Attending the last Western Mass Developers Group meetup didn't find much interest in Drupal since each attendee seemed to be established in their own development niche, but I was urged to contact Chip Kaye (http://drupal.org/user/157846) who used to be at the Daily Hampshire Gazette. He's interested in attending but is very busy with multiple applications to the Knight News Challenge final round. He would like some feedback on some of his ideas, too, so he is likely to attend if at all possible for him. I have invited him to run a BoF-style gathering if ends up attending but can't plan a formal presentation and he likes that idea.

I've also reached out to Jay Adan (http://drupal.org/user/466636) of Greenfield(formerly Griffon) Games and http://www.jayadan.com/ and asked if he would be interested sharing his experience building a local Drupal site and business. If I don't here from him I'm hoping to meet him at the Dec. 6, 10th anniversary party for Greenfield Games, since the store is only a couple block from me and I am a customer.

Other ideas for locals I should get in touch with?

Cheers,
Steve
