Hi to everybody:),

I'm a noob and i just start working on my graduation thesis, which is about making a site for the Pedagogical ICT Licence is a training course introducing a European quality standard for the continued professional development of teachers in the pedagogical integration of information, media and communication technologies (ICT) in education...
The scenario that i need to make is:

  1. i should define a list of professional qualities.
2.1. a teacher for a certain quality can autocertificate him self or he can make a test to obtain it.
2.2. in any case it will be reference to him an appropriate studing material.
3.1. if the teacher did not pass the test, than he will get again an appropriate studing material in order to improve for the next time.
3.2. if he pass the test than he will gain a certificate.

I should make a Learning Object Repository for the documents, and define an ontology for the classification of those documents.

So, the options and the technology that i think that i may use are:
- Islandora for integrating Fedora with Drupal, but the Drupal 7 version is in alpha dev. stage.
- following the instructions for building a Learning Object Metadata (LOM) repository on JEM.
- or i was thinking that maybe Drupal 7, SPARQL and RDFx maybe are enough to build my site.

Any opinion and suggestion it will be on help.
Thanks.

if you're building a repo I'd check out Open Atrium http://openatrium.com/

I'm also still building in D6 which isn't a bad thing as many of the distros still are.

I agree that Open Atrium

I agree that Open Atrium might serve you well. The new atrium folders feature is a really great addition to the media management with OA.

(BTW-- I'm a bit behind on updating and tweaking my version of "AtriumED" but the future one will implement wysiwyg_imageupload and revert back to original upload itweak stuff as well. Also a new feature for assignments :)

Thanks for the reply

Thanks for the help: btopro and markwk,

OA looks to me very interesting, but the thing that i did not understand is if with OA i can build a LOM repositroy?

Thanks again for your time.

I'm not all that familiar

I'm not all that familiar with LOM, but in terms of providing metadata to an object, cck can do this fine. So, yes OA would work.

Keep in mind though that Open Atrium might be overkill depending on what you want to accomplish... That said, OA provides a useful interface and group space for various use cases.

Thanks markwk

I'm remaking a site made with joomle that has a moodle e-learning part where only authenticated users can enter, this part will remain in my new drupal site and plus i should make it more interactive and i should build the above scenario ..
My doubt is that the above scenario made with OA maybe will be to much somehow, and also i must use the Learning Objects Metadata standards.

I'm realy grateful for all your suggestions, i'm new to drupal and it means a lot to me.
