channelAustin is pleased to announce it has recently been chosen by Denver Open Media and Civic Pixel as one of 6 public access television / community media centers in the country for a Beta site implementation of their Open Media Project modules. http://groups.drupal.org/open-media-project

channelAustin, http://www.channelaustin.org, is looking for Austin Drupal and CiviCRM developers to join us in this amazing project that will help us integrate the interactive features of the web.

channelAustin is Austin's community TV station located in East Austin at 1143 Northwestern Avenue.

Denver Open Media and Civic Pixel received a $380,000 grant from the Knight Foundation to develop open source Drupal-based modules for public access / community media, as well as for the broader Drupal community.

channelAustin can handle much of the Drupal work in-house, and Civic Pixel will be providing us with on-site support in March. There are, however, some things we need help with. For example, we need an ODBC connection to our Synergy Broadcasting Systems database - which is a Microsoft Access database. We're looking for someone with PHP expertise. We also need help installing, configuring, and implementing and testing CiviCRM.

We are a non-profit with a limited budget, but we have some funds available for consulting and staff training. We also have several options available for in-kind trade of services - including free enrollment in our training program, video production and post-production work, and sponsorship opportunities on three cable channels.

In addition, we'd like to reach out to the Austin Drupal community and ask for help in throwing a party for Denver Open Media and Civic Pixel when they come here in March. They'll be here during SXSW.

Contact me, Stefan Wray, and let me know if any of this interests you and we can go into more detail.

I can be reached at 512-478-8600, Ext. 13 through Dec. 19 and after Jan. 5.

Thanks,

-Stefan
