Welcome to the Austin Drupal Users Group!
As of April 2025, we are no longer posting events in this group (there are too many places to post events and groups.drupal.org is dying a slow death).
TxDUG / Texas Drupal organizers are collecting contact info for Drupalers in Texas so we can stop being reliant on other platforms (here’s looking at you Meetup.com) for communicating announcements. Please fill out this form so we can email you about Drupal events in Texas (you can choose which regions).
Please join us in the #austin-texas channel on Drupal Slack. If you aren't already on Drupal Slack, join here.
We continue to post our meetups in Drupal.org's Community Events section.
For now, RSVPs for our meetups are in our Meetup Group, but this might change in the future. Best to be in our Slack channel or on our email list.
Hope to see you at an upcoming meetup!

Starting with Drupal 8, the Migrate API makes it possible to write and execute migrations without having to write PHP code. It is also possible to execute them from the Drupal administration interface if the command line is not available or you prefer not to use it.

Read moreLooking for an accessibility expert to help with a D7 site
Hi,
I have a client that needs their Drupal 7 site %100 AA accessible by January 1st, 2020. Although I am a Drupal developer, I have been working primarily with Wordpress the last couple years and I am far from an expert in accessibility. Is there anyone in this group available to help out? Or, can anyone recommend someone?
Thanks in advance

Attend Percona Live--On us!
Hello Drupal Austin,
The Open Source Initiative (https://opensource.org) has been invited to host a booth at the upcoming Percona Live Open Source Database Conference, set for 29-30 May 2019 in Austin, Texas.--but we need our your help.
We're reaching out to the local Austin (and surrounding area) open source community with an invitation to attend the conference on the OSI's behalf--in support of open source software and the OSI's work.

Join us this month for a special presentation from our guest speaker Chris Russo of Savas Labs coming all the way from Durham, NC!
Note: We're meeting at WeWork University Park this month
Topic
In the best-case scenario, an open source project is comprised of a virtuous, reciprocal community in which participants donate their time to improve a tool that is freely available to all people. The anti-tragedy of the commons, a utopian sharing economy, if you will. This representation of open source projects jibes well with those who favor a decentralized and democratic organization methodology, but does it sync with how open source works in the wild? Or is there more we should consider when we're thinking about contributing to open source?

Hi folks,
is anyone interested in spending a half or whole day over the global contribution weekend doing something to contribute to Drupal?
I didn't see anything planned for our part of the world and thought it might be fun to have something happen in Austin.

I am planning a whole day of mentor-guided, self-led Drupal training in Bryan/College Station. I don't have any details yet-- was just interested in it and came across https://buildamodule.com/train as a super guide that looks really approachable. My Drupal 8 is currently very limited to just a few personal, one-off projects, but I am ramping up and want to share what I've got and learn more.
I am looking for organizers, mentors, old friends I haven't seen in a while :), and of course attendees!
Thoughts?
