I'm pretty rusty with Drupal

Gordon Atkinson 61's picture

I'm pretty rusty with Drupal right now. Haven't developed a site in over a year. Have not gotten into Drupal 7 yet.

I'd like a kind of overview of where things are right now with Drupal.

Gordon

I'll be there.

I want to network with other developers... I've done some D7 work but primarily want to discuss the future of Drupal.

I'd like to jump in. I've built a few sites in D7, but I find some of the modules wanting when it comes to upgrading. I've also started building some sites in WordPress because Drupal is proving to be too complex for clients. A discussion on how to make it easier for them (and myself) would be good.

Thank you to everyone who was able to make it out. For those of you that could not, we look forward to seeing you at the next meeting.

We discussed theming including the usage of Fusion and Omega to tailor the user interface, the relative complexities of Drupal versus other Content Systems such as Wordpress, Project Management for Drupal Implementations, and the future of Drupal including D8.

Project management in Drupal 6

tbisciglia's picture

Got the recap about the last meeting. My company has actually built a native Project Management module in Drupal 6, because we couldn't find a module already written (there were a few half-started projects, but that was all). We haven't put it onto drupal.org, mostly because I'm not sure how to communicate to my boss the benefits of taking $7500 worth of work and putting it out there for everyone to use. I know it's a good idea in general, as it'll get more eyeballs on it and maybe even some contributed functionality, but maybe one of you can help me with how to make a case for this. It would be good for the developer that wrote it as well! Anyone have any thoughts about this?
