Drupal Groups Email Spam

I'm starting to get a little annoyed by the sheer volume of email spam coming from Drupal Groups :(
I really don't mind getting told when there's a new thread, or if there's been a response to a thread I'm already actively following, but the constant stream of chatter is doing my head in at this stage.

Is it possible to trim this down? Am I blind? I've not been able to find anywhere that will let me alter notifications of this type.

Daniel :)

Carpooling to Ballyvaughan

Hello,

been thinking about how some people are hoping to get to Ballyvaughan this Friday, Saturday or Sunday. If anyone is driving with space in their car for a passanger or two, it would be great if they posted where they are coming from, where they think they'll pass through and at what time they're planning to depart for Ballyvaughan.

slow VPS site

I have a VPS site running Virtuzzo with Blacknight. Unlike Alan who also had VPS problems with Blacknight and on a similar spec-ed machine, the server isn't grinding to a halt and the server load rarely goes above 2 or 3. The site is going live this week but the performance is very poor, and no matter what I try I can't seem to improve things much.

Drupalcamp Burren - What do you want to hear about?

Hi all,
I have one session ready to go for drupalcamp next weekend,
but I'd be happy to do another.

Is there any specific topic people would like to hear about?
And at what level, eg Beginner/ Intermediate /Advanced

Let me have your suggestions - and I'll see what I can do.
Maybe somebody else might be inspired by the suggestions, and take one [or more] on.

Later
Alan

Best module or CCK field to allow thumbnail view of big picture

Apologies for the poor title as thumbnail view isn't exactly accurate. I am looking for a module, cck field, widget or other method that would let me select a particular portion of an image to be used as a portioned size image in a view2 node content type.

I would like to select an interesting portion of an image sized about 800x600 or maybe smaller instead of trying to proportionally scale & crop a larger uploaded image (1024x768) which would be part of a node with a short description and other fields

I tried to attacha demo image but the spam filter was triggered so removed it

opensourceireland.org

Hi,

Some of you may have seen us give a presentation at ossbarcamp
over the weekend. We're in the process of building a website which will
centralise the rather fragmented opensource community in Ireland.
Basically it'll be a one stop site for all opensource events in
ireland along with bios of the groups involved and their members if
they like.

Of course, this is meant to be a site built by the community for the
community so your input is greatly appreciated if we're to pull this
off.

Currently we're taking comments on our site as well as on freenode irc

D6 Views "Page Display" not listed in other Views where nodes of type page selected

What s the easiest way to exclude certain content types from search results in D6 or is it possible to have customised indexes based on security role membership so if a user isn't a member of a certain group they wouldn't see certain content types but would still be able to search?

D6 Views "Page Display" not listed in other Views where nodes of type page selected

I have a strange problem that is difficult to explain.

I have 2 D6 cck Views, 1 (ArticleList) has a page display that shows a list of a particular node and has a menu entry which works fine, the other view (AssociatedItems) displays a list of different node types including page but the page entry created by ArcticleList is not showing up in that.

Is there a particular setting on the page display I need to change to have it listed as a page in other views?

Circular Referencing with Content types and Views

Hi all,

I have a query about views and node references. I have 2 content types called Class & Resources.
The class content type has a node reference field called AssociatedResources and the Resources content type has a node reference called AssociatedModule

I would like to have a number of users with permission to create Resources and as part of that process associate it with a particular class using the associated class list of nodes

User Reference field Views2

Hi Drupal Ireland users,

I'm hoping some users based nearer to home will be able to help clear up a problem I am having getting a User Reference field to display the content I want the way I want.

I have a View with a page display that lists all the current users on a table list (Firstname Surname) with the firstname linked to the profile node for editing. The list is supposed to be used in a number of content types so I don't have to translate account name's when selecting users to associate with that content type.

DrupalCamp Ballyvaughan (Clare, Ireland) 15th & 16th of May 2010

The Burren College of Art, Ballyvaughan, Co. Clare have kindly offered space to host this summer's DrupalCamp in Ireland. Wi-Fi, a large gallery space, a lecture theatre, a seminar room and cafeteria are available both days. And come evening we can enjoy some great restaurants and bars in the village, which also has several hotels, B&Bs and self catering cottages in which to stay. On top of that, it's set in the unique Burren landscape, looking out over Galway Bay. Doolin, Lahinch and Kinvara are nearby, so if you want to make a proper break of it and come earlier or stay on after the camp, there's lots to see and do.

If you're keen to help out in any way, please don't be shy, do let us know. What we really need now are for people to volunteer to give presentations on any aspect of Drupal for either absolute beginners or seasoned developers.

If you would like to join and help make this better, please register at this address:

thesixtyone.com a great new music site. It's like a myspace music site, but, done properly and with elegance.

This isn't a Drupal site, but, I was blown away by the elegance in the layout and design. A superb example of a simple but very good site.

http://www.thesixtyone.com/

Apart from the general look n feel, I like the way the iconised navigation is implemented. Superb.

Great music too!
