A DrupalCon Dublin sponsor looking for a 'Social Event' venue.
Hello everyone,
I'm looking for a venue for a Drupal social event in Dublin during the DrupalCon (26 till 29 September). Ideally, reasonably close to the Convention Centre.
A place that serves drinks and some simple food would be great. It doesn't have to be rented out completely, mixing with people is fun!
Any tips from you locals? :)
Many thanks in advance!
Dublin Monthly Meet up - July
The format is really casual. We sit around and chat about Drupal. Some people present specific topics or showcase their recent work. Otherwise we discuss the latest in the drupal community and help each other with particular issues we might have encountered.
New people are welcome - we're a really friendly group.
We typically head for ONeills pub on Pearse St after 9pm for further discussion and pints.

Hi all. This is what we discussed at the latest committee meeting, last week:

-2-
Login details for the facebook account still unknown despite Mark trying to contact them using the facebook message (no answer to his message). Stella will be reaching out personally people we believe could have access to the facebook login details.

Hello everyone,
I am counting the hours before this time of year again ;)
I got few questions:
1. Does any one go from Dublin to Limerick on the 12th May after 16:00 and willing to give me a ride to Limerick?
2. Will be a pre-drupal camp meet up planed in the pub?
3. Does any one go from Limerick on the 15th morning back to Dublin and willing to give me a ride back?

Read moreDo any Drupal veterans remember a D6 module called CCK Line Product?
I'm trying to resurrect an old D6 sandbox project, Node Xero Invoices, https://www.drupal.org/sandbox/webindustries/1894428 - but it has a dependency on CCK Line Product, and I can find no trace of it anywhere.
Would anyone have a copy of this or know where I might locate it?
Thanks, Conor.
Read moreDublin Monthly Meet up - Drupal 8 Theming
We will have a new meet up of our new series, this month about Drupal 8 like last month, but more focused on theming as Drupal 8 is a wide topic.
We are looking for people to tell us their experience with Drupal 8 theming, twig, any demo or examples to show.
We will have some use cases and examples during the session and we will be open to discuss different approaches, so bring your questions and you could answer some questions too.
The session would have a workshop, hands on style where everyone can comment or share their screen to the rest of us.

Hi all,
Last night some of us met to discuss creating the "Come to DrupalCon Dublin" video to be shown at DrupalCon New Orleans. We've decided on the various points of interest around Dublin we want to shoot and how we want to approach it.
To simplify the process there won't be anyone in front of the camera talking - we're going to do a voice over later. However, we would like to have photo-bombers - i.e. random people sitting in the background with a Drupal tshirt on, with their laptops open.
Then for the last scene we'll get a group shot of everybody together.
Read morePrepping Drupal 8 for next month
Seeing as how we positively failed to talk D8 in any detail last month, let's actually do some prep between now and next meetup!
To whit, here's things I think we could look at without too much hardship.
- Directory structure
- Anatomy of a theme
- Creating a custom theme
- Anatomy of a module
- What's included out of the box
- The module landscape for D8
- Twig
- CMI
- Major differences under the hood
If we get through all that lot we'll be doing well! We could probably spend an entire evening on Twig alone. Maybe we can do a deep dive thereafter?
Read moreOnline Invoicing/Bookkeeping for Ireland
We're looking at changing from WHMCS to a different online invoicing system, so if you are using one (e.g. Freshbooks, Zoho Invoice, etc), would you mind sharing your experience and opinion of it?
In terms of functionality, the only must-have's for us would be recurring/subscription billing, Paypal and/or CC payments from customers, VAT support, and of course it would need to be consistent with Irish bookkeeping/accounting practices.
Thanks!

I new I had a question to ask at the meet-up this week.
HI all
I knew I had a question to ask at this weeks meet-up! It must have been the engaging conversation that distracted me and I forgot to ask ;o)
Anyway, I have a request from a client - they want to be able to make changes to existing nodes on their website, but they don't want the changes to go live. Instead they want to be able to save a preview of the amended node that they can pass around to the rest of the staff for further changes/approval. Once all the changes have been done and approved by everyone, she then wants to be able to apply those changes to the live node.

Hi.
We had a discussion at the Dublin meet up yesterday and have decided to make a video to be shown at DrupalCon New Orleans
Anyone who would like to volunteer, please let us know. We are planning to meet sometime next week. The final meeting date, time and location will be confirmed shortly.
There is no requirement for some of us to go from Ireland to DrupalCon New Orleans in May, but if someone is going:
- DA will pay for their conference tickets
- DA will give them the staff rate in the conference hotel
- All other expenses to be covered personally
