Maintenance release of DrupalEd

Events happening in the community are now at Drupal community events on www.drupal.org.

Hello, all,

We have created a maintenance release of DrupalEd. This is not a security upgrade; this release only updates the existing code.

I was going to get a release together in June, but there was talk on the dev list of a possible 5.2 point release. When that release never came about, we decided to move forward with this maintenance release of DrupalEd.

When you grab the codebase, be sure to read the upgrade_notes.txt that accompanies the download -- this file gives an overview of the upgrades, and some instructions for upgrading. Of course, the handbook is the authoritative source for upgrading, and any people wanting to add to the documentation re upgrading should feel free to contribute there.

See here for the announcement, and here for the code.

Cheers,

Bill

update error

Hello,

I followed the update_notes.txt instructions for the 5.1.2 distribution. The upgrade went well except I did receive this error. Indeed there is no calendar_ical table in the DB (there is a cache_calendar_ical table).

I'm not sure how significant this is, but I thought I'd note it.

Operating in off-line mode.

Bill - I just looked at

Bill - I just looked at drupaled and realized it is still a full drupal install with modules. For some reason I had thought that there was documentation as to how to get drupaled running when there is already a drupal core installed. I would install but I got cheap hosting from site5 and they're not setup for multiple installs (it's a pain but at least my email works and the sites are super fast).

Any help on this? I'd love to try it out.

My bad, I found the list -

My bad, I found the list - boy is it extensive!

I see Boris' suggestion for installation profiles:

And stupidly enough, my question was already posted - by me!

So please ignore my previous post.

So my question is, is there any additional database inserts or extras that we would miss if we installed all the necessary modules?

views, node types, menus, other config options

The sql file that ships with DrupalEd contains the node types, views, OG config options, basic user roles, etc that give the site structure.

The contrib modules provide the code that supports the functionality. The actual configuration delivers the functionality --

I'm not sure if I'm answering your question, but I hope this helps.

Cheers,

Bill
