First things first, Ive just started with the ELMS distro, and have to say thanks to all who put in this effort.

Im hoping for some learning resources to get me started. I am experienced with Drupal, but not ELMS systems. I know what I need to do with this Drupal ELMS distro, but from a few hours of hunting, cant find very much in the way of documentation/Users Guide/Tutorials...

Anyone have some links to share?

Thanks

There are a lot of screen-casts detailing random aspects of ELMS (pre-distribution) here https://elearning.psu.edu/elearning/platform

As this is alpha 1 these are the kinds of things that I wanted to hear from people (aka what they want next :) ) so I can start throwing together documentation, user guides, and use cases in the coming weeks. This documentation will be hosted on https://elms.psu.edu/ so please if anyone has suggestions for what they'd like to see tutorials for or videos of how to use different components of ELMS please let me know.

Here's some of what I was planning to put together for future documentation:

  • Walk through of some different sample courses built off of ELMS (because of FERPA concerns I can only show ones that don't have student work in them which is where ELMS really shines)
  • Go through a use case of using the Outline Designer to build a sample lesson
  • Go over how to tweak Chamfer to give a different feel to the course
  • Create a sample series of use cases for the Open Studio and how it can increase student feedback / instructor interaction in the course
  • List all the modules used in ELMS and what they're used for (non-video)
  • Create a roadmap for future development (things like Quiz, Assignment Studio / Gradebook and Online Rubrics are all in the future roadmap)

Anything else the community would like covered is on the table at this point. ELMS attempts to get IDs, instructors, and technologists around "the table" speaking in similar terms so that they can better collaborate to create better resources for serving students.
