How can I customize user's Control Panel?

Hi all,

I would like to know if there is a way to remove some itens from user's control panel.

For example I would like to remove "Manage Members" item founded in //cp/users

And I would like too that some features founded in //cp/features doesn't appear to the user.

Benchmarking Higher Ed Sites ...

I recently revisited an old pet project of mine looking at benchmarking and comparing higher education sites. It is obviously a work in progress, but it is shaping up fairly well at this stage and I'm getting to a point where I'd like to secure some feedback. If 'ya get a chance, please take a look and let me know what you think. It's based on D7, represents around 3,200 US higher ed sites, and has a range of data to sift through.

Please Help: after userlogin nearly no function is anymore available!

Since weeks I try in vane to setup OS. Here is how far I come. Frrom the moment a user is logged in all one can see is that.
Firefox after login: http://lp.d-gy.de/after-user-logiin-FF.jpg
Internet Explorer after login: http://lp.d-gy.de/after-user-logiin-IE.jpg
There is no chance to logout, no to create a new site, what makes OS unusable.
I have tried to activate the login modul for the OS-default-theme, but that has only impact on the frontsite before login. As you can see there is no possibility to create or administer anything meanwhile I have allowed authenticated users to do so.

Page Not Found After Deleting Content-How To Redirect To Previous Page

Hi All,

I was wondering how you can avoid getting the "Page Not Found" page after deleting content from a page when it reloads. Is there any way to bypass this page and redirect to the previous page? For example, I add a blog entry. I click on the blog entry and decide to delete it because I don't want it. After I delete it I get the Page Not Found page because it's trying to reload the content I just deleted and it does not exist. I would like for it to reload back into the main Blog page instead. Is this possible in Open Scholar?

Thank you in advance for your help.

How to create Static Home page for Open Scholar User's Site?

Hi All,

I was wondering if anybody out there knows how to set a static page (like Bio) as the default home page for an Open Scholar user site (instead of having the stream of items added to the site set as the default home page)? Where can that be edited for each user? (not site wide)

Thank you in advance for your help!

Forming a Drupal in Higher Edu Consortium

I've been having a conversation via email with a bunch of higher EDU drupal developers which I'm sick of just talking about so let's make it happen: A Drupal in Higher Education Consortium. The goal of this isn't some kind of bloated, formal relationship but instead a series of lightweight tools across different websites (this one included) in order to help each other through problems we face.

Code-based user registration -- VSITE

Hi all,

We are working to automate the filling of course websites with auto-created users based on our campus centralised course roster info. So far, I've had good success creating users via Drupal's stock user_save, then adding them to sites via og_subscribe_user_action.

The problem comes when I try to get vsite profile information in (i.e. the user's first and last name).

upgrade from b10 to b11 fails for errors in update.php

I downloaded 2.0b11, unpacked it to a new directory as a test installation, copied over settings.php and changed it to use a copy of my b10 database, copied over a few custom modules, copied over my b10 users "files" directory, and attempted to run update.php using the update_free_access = TRUE option. It appeared to work, updating around 57 things until towards the end it reported the following errors:

warning: reset() expects parameter 1 to be array, null given in /DocumentRoot/eportfolio-b11/update.php on line 313.

No OpenScholar working...

  • First I succesfully installed the beta 10 Version and was very pleased about the wonderful Application. On one server I get while trying to install either erroralerts or timeouts on another server, the pages lack nearly all necessary blocks and dont have even neither createsite, nor any logout function.
It is the same if I upgrade and if I do a new installation.
I saw that others to had some problems with the new, anyyone has an Idea what might be the Problem that keeps me from using the current OS-Version beta11, please let me know.

Support for javscript redirection?

I just signed on last night and it will take me some time to transition all of my content from my current website onto the Open Scholar platform. In the meantime, I was hoping to setup a javascript redirection to my current website, so anyone who accesses my Open Scholar domain will be sent to my current site. It seems that the text fields in Open Scholar are designed to escape javascripts, which is understandable, but is there a workaround I can use until I'm ready to have my Open Scholar site go live?

Thanks!

Anyone have Custom Domains and Clean URL's working together?

I'm wondering if anyone has found the .htaccess magic to get both Clean URLs and Custom Domains working together.

In the control panel for my test prof (openscholar.dept.u.edu/testing/?q=professor/cp/settings/generic) I can put in a custom private domain, professor.dept.u.edu. I tell apache that professor.dept.u.edu has the same doc-root as openscholar and viola! professor.dept.u.edu takes me to professor's openscholar page.

If I turn on clean URLs in openscholar professor.dept.u.edu gives an Internal Server Error, 500.

single site installation

Hi everyone,

I'm wondering whether anyone could help me setting openscholar up as a single-site installation? This would include making the base URL the entry to my homepage.

Thanks,

Customizing the initial setup

Hi everyone,

I'm new to openscholar. I have a site setup with most of my content, but there are a few things that I don't seem to figure out:

(1) Can I hide the login button and only keep a deep URL to it?
(2) In the header is a link to contact the owner. Is it possible to remove this link?
(3) How can I change the browser icon?

Thanks a million for any pointers. I'm using openscholar 2.0 beta 10.

Fixed vsite problem by deleting entries from spaces_settings and purl tables using PMA.

Flushed the drupal caches

Have lost site content from the head and side bars of the site, including the primary menu, prof picture and info, etc.

Undo custom domain in vsite?

Hosed my openscholar site this morning and I'm wondering if there is a graceful way to back out.

I set a private domain: prof.dept.u.edu for a working site: openscholar.dept.u.edu/openscholar/prof

Stupidly I did not add the prof.dept.u.edu domain as a cname to the server. Not that it would matter much since I can't edit the apache config to point the prof.dept domain at the openscholar directory.
