Book Cover for all Publication subtypes?

Hello everyone,

I hope this is the right place, but I am new to Drupal/Openscholar and have a (minor) question regarding the publication content type.
Basically I would like the "Book cover" field to appear in all publication subtypes.

I tried editing the Biblio content type, but I found that the "Book cover"/biblio_image field is included in all form variants, so supposedly it should appear in all publication sub-types. On the other hand, the field doesn't show up on the Biblio module administration page at all.

change vsite path?

Is it possible to change the path of a vsite and all items under that vsite?

Example -- change:
scholar.school.edu/joe-smith
To:
scholar.school.edu/john-doe

What's the best way to do that? Is it possible to do this via the site interface in one step or is editing each url alias individually the only option? Is that not recommended?

If it can't be done en masse via the interface, I'm thinking maybe just run an update query directly on the url_alias table?

fatal error on update regarding ctools and os_boxes

Updating from Beta 13 to Beta 14, I got this error when running update.php:

An error occurred. https://mydomain.com/update.php?id=5&op=do
Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required './sites/all/modules/os/modules/os_boxes/plugins/os_boxes_default.inc' (include_path='.:/usr/share/pear:/usr/share/php') in /var/www/html/openscholar/sites/all/modules/contrib/ctools/includes/plugins.inc on line 759

Error persists when rerunning update.

private sites in /websites and items from private sites in /publications

So we noticed that vsites that have been marked Private are still showing up in the /websites list and the featured sites list on the homepage. And publication citations posted in private vsites show on the /publications list. I see this is a known issue reported in your tracker.

Do you have any suggested workarounds at this time?

We are investigating using OpenScholar for our University as a means to provide sharing of publications and data among campus professionals and grad students. For this, we have set up OpenScholar online and want to start getting people to sign up for 1-hour tutorials.

Recently, I set up an instance of OpenScholar Beta-14, went to set up an example scholar site through Create content -> Scholar Site and then proceeded to check on the Site Layout functionality in the Control Panel. After messing around with the layout a while, I clicked Save and that's when the problem started. A PHP error popped up on the resulting page telling me there was a problem in:

Google Checkout - Status Message Not Changing

Hi All,

I am using google checkout payment in my D7 site. But once the payment status is changed in my google sandbox, its not affecting the ubercart order status. Its still in the 'Chargeable' state. Can anybody help me to solve this issue. I want to change the ubercart status to 'Payment Received' once the order is charged in google.

I've installed OpenScholar on an Amazon EC2 instance. What I'd now like to do is to send visitors of my www.lastname.net domain directly to my OpenScholar user page (with the URL being displayed as www.lastname.net/). Any hints on how to do this?

Would anyone like to share how much disk space their OpenScholar deployment is using? We are looking to deploy an instance at our school on a VM and I would like to get a nice estimate on disk usage so that I can appropriately create a specification. Any suggestions on how I should estimate this?

Site Logo not appearing

Hi...

I'm trying to set the site logo but having some trouble. I may not understand enough yet about openscholar themes and layout -- if anyone can help me understand I'd be grateful.

Under Site Building -> Layout on my site, the 'Site Logo' widget appears in the Header Left position for all pages. I've configured the widget with the site logo. But the logo does not appear. I've tried putting the widget in other positions to no avail.

The logo does appear alongside the site in the listing of sites on the main openscholar page (under 'Featured'), so I know the image is accessible.

Hi...

I'm new to openscholar, so please excuse my question if it's naive.

I'm interested in using the "project" mode of OS for research group web sites. Most of the necessary content types are already there, but I think we will also need a "project" type -- research groups have several projects. (I guess maybe a better term would be sub-project, since the top-level is termed a project).

I thought about using one of the other content types and changing the name in the menu, but none fits quite right.

Creating new site results in root-level index page on server, not default site homepage

When I click the "Go there now" link after entering and submitting the basic site creation credentials, I am served up the index page on the root level of the server, and not the default home page for the site I just created. In addition to this, I am not getting the email I am supposed to get after successful site creation. Since I am not a server administrator, I can only speculate that the problem might have to do with permissions not being set correctly and/or paths are not set correctly in certain files (such as .htaccess or httpd.conf).

We would like to have the Manage Users functionality that is available with vsite_users restricted to only those with the administrator role (and not available to scholar admin). We have integrated shibboleth, and we don't want users logging in straight through drupal instead of shibboleth. Also we don't want scholar site owners to be able to search for existing site users, due to FERPA concerns. We would like to just have the scholar site owner request from us that a user be given access to edit their site and we handle the allocation of privileges on the back end.

Frontpage to Profile - 404

Hi all :)

I tried to create my own personal website using open scholar. To do that, I changed the front page with drush to the profiles url. However, I get a 404. The page can be loaded when entering the URL directly though. I can't set the frontage through the site-information. I wonder how that happens. In the database, it is registered correctly. Am I missing something?

I entered this as an issue, but since I haven't heard anything I thought I would try here as well.

I just installed SCHOLAR-2-0-BETA14 (on a shared hosting plan, with PHP 5.4). I went through the installation and it seemed to install correctly, but at the end I got a page full of identical warnings.

Can someone tell me how I would go about adding / changing text in OpenScholar Admin panels within drupal, so I don't have to alter core openscholar files? We're trying to add simple warnings on pages like the "add class" (/node/add/class) page, but not having much luck.

I've tried adding a block to the OpenScholar Admin theme, but it's not showing up.

Any advice would be appreciated.

What is the difference between "OpenScholar" and "OpenScholar Virtual Site"?

I'm not sure what the significance of OpenScholar Virtual Site is., or even really, what it is.

It's listed as a subproject of OpenScholar, and my inclination is that it is the bundle of modules to install in sites/modules to enable a regular Drupal site with all of the OpenScholar functionality.

Is this correct? And if not then what?

If it is correct, are there any issues I should watch out for when installing and also, is it safe to install all in one fell sweep with Drush?

Customizing Open Scholar User Signup

Hey all,
I'm part of a team investigating open scholar for our university to see if we want to use it. One key thing we want is some sort of integration with CAS in the user signup, When you sign up it allows the user to enter info in fields, does anyone have any experience using a CAS sign on to auto-fill these fields. I've been trying to find where i can even edit the setup of the user signup page without much luck, can i do this through the Drupal UI? Any help is really appreaciated guys, thanks!
