If a Drupal genealogy distribution were created, how important is it to have GEDCOM integration?
Anyone in GRUPAL working with Drupal distributions and have done any Application integration?
Hello GRupal,
I am trying to see where Drupal could be used in some of my projects and what I find it most intriguing in its distribution capability such as Open Atrium and its integration with other apps like CiviCRM. Does anyone in the group have experience or thoughts on either of these or others?

New German Drupal Homepage Distribution
For those of you who understand the German language:
I created a Drupal distribution for creating advanced (German language) homepages. The intention is to enable Drupal newbies to get their first website started more quickly.
Early OpenPublish 1.7 Preview
As you may have noticed, we have been somewhat quiet during the last several days. It was so because we've been working long days, ramping up to the release of the much-anticipated OpenPublish 1.7 - the first OP version with an extensive Features support.
We are pleased to present to you an early preview of the 1.7 version. We really appreciate your participation in the group, and wanted to give you an exclusive early sneak-peek at what's coming + a chance for feedback.

For the past several months we have been working on a D6.x recipe for a web 2.0 style business/organization website, e.g. brochureware + portal. We have been using the old copy the database method to start new sites. However, over the holidays we decided to make profile out of the recipe. We weren’t anticipating it being that difficult, but now it’s close to done. I would like to get some opinions before we launch it officially.
You can download the entire distribution here:

drupal developer distribution
Hi,
i am putting together a distribution aimed at module developers. Basically it gives a quick install of developer used modules and enables certain blocks, so one does not need to bother about setting these up. This also means that its not safe for deployment on live site, its only built for devs.

Just raising awareness about digital distribution options...TuneCore is a music service that claims to charge a one time fee per track or album to get your music on iTunes and other digital distro networks. What seems unique about the service is they say they don't take percentage fees from the sales...that is - what iTunes gives them, they give you. Like all of these services, research their terms and conditions before signing up!
Read moreTheming integrated module output is hard therefore distributions should not require all core themes
One of the most important and difficult parts of building a site is theming the integrated module output. If distributions are required to support all core themes, then designers will have to ensure that their integrated contributed modules will work with all core themes. This is too difficult. Profile and distribution designers should have the option to included fewer themes in their distribution.
Designers will want to focus on the user experience of their distributions and not on the laborious task of systems integration.
