Drupal Camp PA is focused on bridging Higher Education and Industry. We've got a lot of members of the Drupal PSU, Drupal Pittsburgh, Drupal Ohio communities, and elsewhere coming together to talk Drupal. While not exclusively for education, there will be a lot of developers from higher education institutions present including Write State, Pitt, PSU, CMU and more.

George Washington University is looking to move our Drupal instance out to the cloud in the form of IaaS - a LAMP stack at AWS, Azure or some other provider. We are doing this to make our public-facing websites independent of the GW infrastructure and data centers. Our Information Security team is raising concerns about the ability to protect and harden the environment. Would people be willing to share the following information if you are running a LAMP stack in a hosted environment for your Drupal:

CyberCourse is a Drupal distro for authoring courses. It focuses on university skills courses, like programming, writing, and math. It makes flipped, blended, assessment-driven classes practical.

Build a course with many exercises. Students write programs, write emails, find math logic errors... No multiple choice quizzes. Students get individual formative feedback from humans. Practical at scale, at low cost.

Students can fix and resubmit their work until they get it right. Supports mastery learning.

Does anyone have any recommendations on content access/permissions implementation they can share?

I'm a (relatively new) Drupal developer at private university that's nearing the end of an almost-two-year transition from Coldfusion to Drupal 7. We have around 800 faculty/staff and almost 200 of them need (or want) access to edit specific pages or sections on the website.
