Customer engagement on drupal based e-commerce store

Hi, I run a fashion boutique and recently launched a drupal site for the same. I am currently using it only for lead generation (You can't buy directly from the site). I want to engage with online vistors via chat/ video to improve conversion.
Since I am solopreneur with just 2 staff, I would love something very simple. Which product/app would you recommend? thanks!

Star widget for integer field

I was looking recently for a widget that could display rating results, say as stars. I don't need any voting/rating functionality - just a widget to display number stars, based on what editor has put for a given content. The rating could be stored as simple integer field, which has lead me to an idea of creating new display widget for integer field.

CCK text field with 'size' attribute

The official stance on adding the HTML 'size' attribute to CCK text fields seems to be, "Standard Drupal behavior is to make fields 60 characters long and 95% wide. If you need to change a field length, do it in CSS or with hook_form_alter()."

Our clients don't necessarily know CSS or Drupal module development, and it seems like a no-brainer that you should be able to specify the size of a field in the field settings form. Heck, I know CSS and module development, and I'd much rather be able to just change a form value than muck with code.

Location Selector

Hi guys!

I'm in need of the perfect location selector to efficiently geocode lots of my data. Are any of you guys working on something that might be useful? We should be able to 1. Input place names 2. Input addresses 3. Place pin on map -- to get lat/long out at the other end.

sun's vision for handling embedded/inline content and Wysiwyg in Drupal

.

.

As some of you know, I've recently taken over maintenance of Inline and Image Assist, and initiated the Wysiwyg project. That was not only caused by personal interest, but also to take the necessary steps to realize the long awaited Inline API. You might ask yourself, what those three modules have in common or to do with each other at all: They deal with user input, allow to embed complex contents into a content, and provide an interactive GUI for that. If you already had the chance to work with them, you already know that there is a rather hidden, non-obvious hard-dependency between them.

Although I'd really like to discuss both topics (Inline and Wysiwyg support) separately, the gained experience on these topics enforces us to discuss them concurrently. The following mockup hopefully explains why: (see attachment to view in full size)

Module proposal: Javascript widget generator

I had a brief conversation about this with Ken today and he suggested I post it here. This is just the seed of a module definition; comments and refinements are invited.

We all need to make little chunks of content -- generally headlines and links -- available to other sites. RSS is one way to do that, but Javascript "widgets" are another way, and potentially a better solution in some cases.
