Our Drupal team has recently been tasked with building a Student Portal for the campus. It will need to pull data from enterprise systems such as PeopleSoft (student data) and Desire2Learn (LMS), as well as other Drupal sites (news and events). I was wondering if anyone in this group has built, or is currently building, a student portal in Drupal? If so, I'd love to hear about your experience.

Das gemeinnützige Projekt geniesst bereits große mediale und öffentliche Aufmerksamkeit. Das Konzept steht. Doch alleine werde ich es kaum schaffen. Efter några månaders arbete på Wilson HQ i Kalmar så står nu www.hejkalmar.se klar.

Sidan har så klart drupal i botten och bakom projektet står Kalmar kommun. Portalen är skapad utav Wilson Creative, www.wilsoncreative.se

We will be creating the new Multotec Group website (Phase 1) with development starting early next week. The Design and Development Team is MediaSourceStudio out of Benoni headed by Shaun Richardson. We will send a link to the live development blog attached to the site once it's active. The idea is to post the development framework and elicit comment so that the DrupalZA community can see the site being developed as it happens.

It may be a good chance to see a site being developed from the ground up. If you would like to participate in the blog, feel free to logon next week.

This hasn't been specced out yet in any detail I'd imagine. But did anyone else who read this article by Paul Cullen about proposals from the Global Irish Economic Forum at Farmleigh in the Phoenix Park, think Drupal might be part of one possible solution?

I recently moved my one topic site to another domain. The domain is more general and allows me to write about more things instead of being pigeon holed into one topic.

So I moved my old site from http://www.oldsite.com to http://topic.newsite.com.

What I would like to do is allow each subdomain to be about one topic while the top domain would be a portal to show everything from all domains. Basically I want the subdomain extensions to not access anything from another subdomain but let all the content from the subdomains to "bleed" into the portal.

I have relaunched the Newswatch (http://www.newswatch.in) site, and of course it has been remade with Drupal. I am calling this a Beta version primarily because the site isn't populated much.

Just briefly:
i) Two major section pages: NewsBlog and Features. Other section pages will be developed as and when there is sufficient content to play around with.
ii) The site makes extensive use of Contemplate, CCK, Views, NodeQueue and Node Images: best example for a variety of such combinations would be the homepage itself
iii) Number of content types: 16

Skulle gärna vilja öppna en diskussion för hur man bäst använder drupal som en nyhetsportal. Jag har planerat en större sida och kommer troligen välja drupal för detta. Flera personer kommer vara inblandade i det och skriva, kommer bli en lokal nyhetssite för en liten svensk stad.
