Group organization, streamlining, jQuery 1.8/1.9, JavaScript, AJAX, jQuery Eye Candy, etc.

Hi,

actually I don't know the differences between AJAX, JavaScript and jQuery. But before answering here, maybe a wiki page is missing and could be mentioned in the group description?

In many groups such info lacks in the description. Yes I'm familiar with groups, but from Yahoo and the Dutch http://Clubs.nl (they WERE the first & the best, Yahoo bought the software and made a cut down version for its groups). So I'm not that happy with the features and design of Drupal groups, but that's another issue...

Introducing a Wiki Like Input Format

Hi,

I don't think there is any clean implementation of a wiki-like format for drupal.
And yes I know about flexifilter and customfilter, both of which didn't work for me.
I am developing a module for the same and am seeking partners for the module.

A large part of it is already over, except for implementation of Lists and NoWiki things.

So any volunteers ?

Static page vs. wiki page

Currently it's possible to create a wiki page on g.d.o. Although it acts like a wiki page (anyone can edit), it looks more like a personal page due to the profile picture and the "submitted by" text. I believe this discourages people from editing wiki pages. Now that we have a Revisions tab, maybe it's about time to remove the profile picture and the "submitted by" text.

A Wiki Needs Versioning By Definition

I asked for this earlier with Drupal 5 but was informed that there was a bug somewhere so that proper Drupal versioning wasn't going to be possible until the upgrade to Drupal 6. I think most of the wrinkles to the upgrade have now been ironed out (and I'm sure it wasn't easy).

I need to ask again to enable versioning for the wiki's (if not other content types). It's a core aspect of being a wiki to know who made what change when. I set one up ages ago here to build a collaborative document and figured that nobody looked at it at all (until @v told me he'd edited it at DCDC).

Does anyone have a suggestion on this?
Thanks!

Discussion page on CCK admin pages

Hi All,
I've had some feedback from MediaWiki fans extolling the virtues of Wiki Templates (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:Template) which in my mind are kind of analogous CCK content types (ie content types defined by a user). One neat feature you get with templates is the ability to discuss their development using the mediawiki Talk page, and I was wondering if somebody has thought about doing this for CCK. Hey maybe it's possible to define a CCK type through a node? Maybe I'm just rambling, but I just thought I'd throw it out there.

Cheers,
Kehan

Drupal and wikis?

Hi all... have any of you used used Drupal with wikis, either by setting up part of a Drupal site to behave in a wiki-like way or by integrating Drupal with another software package such as MediaWiki? If so I'd be curious to hear about your experiences. I'm trying to create a Drupal wiki myself—for now I'm going off the "Wiki" Chapter in Using Drupal, but ultimately I'm going to need more fine-grained permissions control than that of the example in the chapter, so I'll have to experiment. I'll let you know how it goes!
