DrupalCorn Meeting

In 2009 I reviewed the book "Using Drupal". The post become an awesome resource for the top 100 modules for Drupal 6. I would love to repeat that event and posting with the second edition.

Monday, March 26th, 7p - 9p

Sorry for the late post on this meeting. It has been a little busy at DrupalCon. For those who were not able to make it to Denver, we can talk about about what we learned. Originally, the plan was to criticize my first attempt at a module and talk about my experience learning how to do it, however it may not be done by meeting time. If I'm not done in time, we can criticize what I have so far.

Monday, Feb 27th, 7p - 9p

Jkraai will be doing a walkthrough of the Drupal Bootstrap. This will give you an idea of what goes on under the hood when Drupal does its magic. It is one of the best places to start when getting into module development.

We'll be meeting in Room 8, Curtiss Hall at Iowa State University Google Map. Please excuse the mess in the hallways as parts of the building are being remodeled.

Happy New Year!! Hope your holidays were great. As I have not planned for a meeting and so have no real agenda, let's keep partying. Let's meet at the London UnderGround at 7pm on Monday night - 30Jan12. I'll try to get the spot in the back. Of course we'll talk straight Drupal but It won't stop there. For instance, people are already asking about DrupalCorn 2012.

I'll be presenting a case study based on a site that I've been working selling property rental listings. The site runs Drupal 7, Ubercart, and a number of custom modules to fill in the holes. I'll touch on the functionality of the site, the lesser known modules used, a quick Ubercart intro, as well as the custom glue modules, and issues I ran into and how they were solved.

Also - a reminder that we will be meeting this coming Monday the 21st rather than the 28th due to the holiday. Same place and time - 333 Science II on the ISU campus from 7-9pm.

We are moving the October meeting to the 24th so it does not conflict with Halloween. We are likely to move the November and December meetings as well so stay tuned.

We are encouraging experienced web developers who are looking to increase their knowledge on Drupal. We will be focusing on major concepts and best practices while acknowledging your existing skills. This is not for the newbie developer, this is a big meal we are offering.
