Our first meeting went very well. We had nine attendees.

Sean discussed the intricacies of getting legacy applications to work with Drupal, and then we had a discussion about what we would like to see going forward.

Among these were:

• A session on Theming
• A session on Git
• A session on Cloud and High Volume hosting
• A session where several members present projects they are working on
• A session about which modules NOT to use and why

There were several other ideas posted as well. Thanks to all who attended.

We had a great meet-up last night at the library in Columbia. We had 8 attendees, including two first-timers.

Software Specialists, (softwarespecialists.com), has agreed to purchase pizza for the group once we get to 10 attendees. Hopefully we'll accomplish this at our next meeting, May 10, 6:00 pm, in the Bank of America room at Richland County Public Library.

Hey Group,

It's been a while now since our last meetup and I'm sure, like me, you are dying to meet. :)

So let's get meeting again! We could meet at my work place based in San Po Kong. I think it's much more flexible as we do not have to book a room, like we had to at SOHOlife and eating out is cheap. I can probably fit around 8-10 people max.

At the moment I have no topic or schedule so let's brainstorm and find a schedule/topic/style that suits most people.

Thoughts?

In another thread the possibility of an Albany-area meetup at DrupalCon SF was briefly discussed, but I thought we'd move any in-depth discussion here to keep things tidy. For now, this thread is to gauge general interest before the event, and to give us an URL to pass on to those who aren't yet part of the group but might be interested. As the date gets closer and we have a pretty good idea of who's coming and what's happening, we can talk schedules and location, and go from there.

SDDUG has been invited to the local San Diego Tech Event - March Mingle. Their focus is on the local tech community, so if anyone would like to attend (it's free - just rsvp!) - here is more info about the event from the organizers:

March Mingle will be held on the evening of Tuesday, March 30th, 2010 from 6:30 to 9:00 at San Diego’s newest and hottest Italian restaurant in North Park, Il Postino.

I just started the Flemington Drupal Meetup a couple weeks ago because I think there is a need for something a bit closer for people in this area. Princeton, Philadelphia and NYC are all 45-75 minutes out and not easily accessible by some.

I am pretty new to Drupal in contrast to the community, about 1.5'ish years but can definitely provide a good foundation for noobs to learn and get started.

Will post more info soon about our first Meetup on the 16th.

Is there a meetup scheduled for anytime in February? March? Is there anyone in the Pittsburgh area who could help me come up to speed a bit faster on module development? I'm willing to pay but I need help now or I'm gonna lose my job - which I really, really need.

I really enjoyed our meetup back in November and I look forward to another. Is anyone else interested?

A first meetup for members of the University of Toronto Drupal community has been scheduled for February 25th, 2009, at 4pm (location TBA). U of T has made significant use of Drupal, but the community is distributed with little collaboration. This meetup is an initial attempt to fix that. We would love to have representation from DUG TO, as one of the discussion topics will be to start a U of T specific DUG or join up with DUG TO. All are welcome, but please sign up if you wish to attend.

If the San Antonio Drupal Group needs a place to meet you're welcome to come down to our office at C4 Workspace, 108 King William.

We have plenty of space, a projector and screen and kitchen space for coffee, beverages and snacks!
