Events module

Hi,
I'm looking for a module to help me have events sent by users.
¿Possibly a new content type?

Cannot find anything for "Events" on this list.
http://drupal.org/node/206724

I think it'd be very useful. Is there such a module?

Module list

Hi,
I miss a list of modules related with social networking. I can't find such list.

Instead, I have to dig through forums and search results on the group (and in the net) and hoping I use the correct words to get all the interesting modules available.

I think it would be of interest of everyone on this group to have an updated list of modules available and their state of development and maintenance. I suggest that could appear as one of the blocks on the sidebar on the right hand side.

Drupal for Education

Hi All,

I'm a high-school student who is working on a professional student social/educational networking site for Tauranga Boys' College as part of a NZQA scholarship. I am keen to get in touch with any experienced Drupalers in New Zealand (preferably in Tauranga if there are any), to discuss Drupal and education related stuff.

For those interested, read on:

Looking for Drupal.se Alpha Group

I am going to be making Drupal.se a Mashup of social sites for Drupal enthusiasts, developers in Sweden. The idea is to give each user a profile page where they can embed widgets and API connections from social sites like LinkedIn, Facebook where groups exist. Blog sites that have widgets or APIs will also be included. This will give a common place for Drupal social networking in Sweden and further promote Drupal in Sweden by showing activities surrounding it. To get an idea of what I am talking about look at the first page of Drupal.se now.

Teaching the meaning of Social Networking

I was(am) working on a drupal based site http://iputech.com Its a student network site where we the college students can share knoweldge, resources, find likely minded people for our projects. This is social networking among college students.

However in my failed attempt to make the university understand the meaning and importance of "social networking" all my hope to get support from them for the site seems diminished.

I am still a kid and can't really manupilate people(specially old people with their own firm believes and unchangable nature)

Best tools for keeping the task of moderation manageable...

I'm building a social network, and I'm wondering how best to minimize the amount of effort I need to put into moderation, while keeping the site from being taken over by trolls and spammers. I'm looking at "troll", "ignore user", and Mollom. I'd love to hear what combinations have proven successful, and any other techniques you'd recommend. I'm planning to start with an invitation-only beta, where people pass invitations on to their friends, and hopefully that will lead to a good core group of legitimate users.

Thanks for any insight,

Ln
