The 2006, with the explosions of huge video based community websites such as Youtube, has shown how video contents are becoming one of the most direct and cool to use web communication approach.
Drupal, as a leading open source content management platform, absolutely needs a good and globally accepted video content approach.
This group aims to get ideas and coordinating efforts between the different people involved in the video content development. The goal is to provide drupal with an easy, powerful and extensible support for videos.
Video module 7.x-2.1-alpha2, what you should know?
Original post : http://heididev.com/video-module-7x-2x-what-you-should-know
I released video module 7.x-2.1-alpha2 version on 11th of Sep. This major version completely redesign the video module and its core, I'm the only one worked on this release and seems our co-maintainers (6.x) had no time to contribute code to the 7.x yet. I'm very very happy about the progress of downloading and using video module. It has over 10,500+ usage now.
In this article I'm going to examine some new features added to the video module.

I've recently finished a big video project, hoping to be the next big YouTube. I'm hoping they are too. In the process I encountered a host of different challenges as you do with any new project. I thought I'd share some of the critical success variables back with the community. Hopefully, I'll help you avoid some of the growing pains I suffered through.

H5P is a Drupal module that allows you to make your videos interactive. Directly in your browser. Much the same way as with Popcorn Maker

Interactive video is perhaps the most exciting content type available so far in the H5P ecosystem. Using a simple drag and drop interface in your favorite web browser, you can integrate interactive elements to enrich the video experience.

Join us Saturday afternoon on November 23rd for a video sprint at the UCLA Research Commons. We're meeting to save all the videos that were once hosted on Blip.tv but were unceremoniously deleted. See https://groups.drupal.org/node/358663 for more details.

Hello,
I'm working on creating a small HD video hosting site, mainly my own videos. I shoot my videos. I'm able to upload videos to a nod, using video module. The encoding is done using ffmpeg 1.2.
I would like the client to have 2 choices to view the video content in. One format would be the main high definition, the other would be a lower resolution. Not necessarily with an alternative codec, just smaller dimensions.
The client would also need to be able to interchange between the 2 resolutions, using controls with in the player. Much like in Vimeo.com.

Dear,
I would like to ask for some help regarding the topic mentioned in the title. My objective is to record a video through a webcam and pass it somehow to the Video module and create a Video node out of it. I can already upload videos to the module and transcode it through Zencoder and I'm already solved the recording part with the "Media: Webcam" module (https://drupal.org/project/media_webcam) but I don't know how to connect those two and pass the recorded video to the Video module.
Can you help me with this?
Thank you,
Alex
Video Display
I've got the Video module installed and running. I've uploaded a video, created a Nodequeue, made a View to publish the Queue, and now I've discovered my first unhappy moment.
I create a Custom Content of Video Tutorial.
Each Nodequeue is going to be a separate class.
So "How to do X" Nodequeue/Class is a collection of Video Tutorial nodes.
Video How-to and Checklist for Greater Los Angeles Drupal

This wiki document provides a how-to and checklist for recording, sharing and uploading videos of presentations and meetups for the video channel at https://vimeo.com/GLADrupal published for and by the Greater Los Angeles Drupal user group (formerly Downtown Los Angeles Drupal).
Although this wiki document details how things are being done now (i.e. at the time of this writing), the comments below are an excellent place to discuss and suggest how to improve this process, reduce its costs, generalize it for other user groups and make it more effective and / or collaborative.

Pay to view videos. Where to I start?
I am a graphic designer, new to drupal and want to learn how to create a site with some videos on it 20 short videos about sales techniques as a first exercise.
Where should I start, in order to make a simple site that does this? I have access to lynda.com and will learn everything there, but there is nothing there about linking pages to payments or whatever the method should be.
