Newbie Drupal Workshop in the Eifel (German language)
Announcing a little Drupal Workshop for beginners, this Friday at 14:00h, in Habscheid, Germany. Not that far from Luxembourg and Belgium. It is an offer for the local linux user group (Schneifeltux), but anybody else would be very welcome.
It is going to be a general newbie workshop containing the installation of Drupal, general basics, cck and views. The workshop should last for 3 to 4 hours and is held in German language.

DrupalJam 6: Amsterdam
Wat in 2007 begon als een bijeenkomst met enkele tientallen mensen, is tegenwoordig uitgegroeid tot een evenement voor zowel ICT professionals, gebruikers en web developers. Op de DrupalJams staat het populaire open source content management systeem Drupal centraal. De organisatoren van de DrupalJam zijn druk bezig met het opstellen van een aantrekkelijk programma en hebben hiervoor zowel nationale als internationale sprekers benaderd. Op de DrupalJam komen diverse onderwerpen aan bod in de vorm van showcases, presentaties en workshops, die voor zowel beginners als gevorderden interessant zijn.
Programma
Er zijn vier ruimtes beschikbaar voor presentaties en workshops. Voor de creatievelingen is er een BoF-ruimte om op ontspannen wijze met anderen te brainstormen of werk te verrichten.
Deze keer schittert Stayokay Zeeburg als lokatie voor de DrupalJam. Er zijn vijf zalen beschikbaar en voor iedereen die ver moet reizen of 's avonds gezellig mee wil naar de kroegmeet is er de mogelijkheid daar te blijven slapen. Naast ruimte voor presentaties is er een BoF room voor spontane brainstormsessies en code sprints en een business corner waar bezoekers in contact kunnen komen met bedrijven.

Making the Drupal Search more efficient with Location.
Hello all,
I'm building a website where there will be locations attached to nodes through CCK.
I would like to offer the possibility to the visitor to find a node with a keyword(like the default search) BUT ALSO with a city name to narrow the search (like the Location Search).
I browsed the drupal modules but none of them allow me to do that.
It's either find a location or find a keyword in a node, but not the mix of them.
How can I achieve that ? Any idea ?

City selection for DrupalCon 2010 still wide open
Please note that the list of cities from http://groups.drupal.org/node/26241 (as per the BoF in Paris) is just a list of possible suggestions. Please see the draft document that has been proposed for city selection guidelines: http://groups.drupal.org/node/27246
The goal is to publish that document at the end of this week (after incorporating feedback from the community) and to start receiving city proposals immediately after that. Since we need to have recommendations to give to the Drupal Association by October 15 the proposal phase will have to be short. The proposal phase will probably end October 1. After that we will have the proposals reviewed by the events agency to gather their feedback in time for the October 15 deadline.
If you want DrupalCon in your city/country in 2010 please review the document and add your feedback!
