Read moreEmbedding a Panels display.
I'm relatively new to Panels, and need to do something a little unusual -- I need to render a Panels display into content controlled by CiviCRM.
I can get this to work, but it's a little ugly. I haven't found any good code examples for doing this, so I looked at how Panel Nodes (6.x-3.5 for this and everything else panels-wise) did it, and am doing something like this:
<?php
$did = 11;
$display = panels_load_display($did);
$display->css_id = 'da-dashboard-group-panel';
$rendered = panels_render_display($display);
?>HOW to make a Drupal IntraNet ??! + social activist site building
Hi, missing a link to an informative page/wiki on the IntraNet group page; about ways to accomplish a Drupal IntraNet and pros & cons of different methods doing so? Just a guess; I tried if a "intranet" module exists and yes: http://drupal.org/project/intranet ... Next try, what more shows up under intranet? http://drupal.org/search/apachesolr_search/intranet
OK, now I get confused, so maybe I shouldn't install the intranet module..?

CiviSchool Update - Online forms to update student / family information
Hey folks in K-12 land (especially to the ones in small independent schools):
A quick update on the current status of CiviSchool:
-
We are rolling out an online form process where parents can maintain and update information on their kid (household, emergency, medical, releases etc). A detailed blog post and screenshots is here: http://civicrm.org/blogs/lobo/civischool-online-forms-update-student-fam...
-
We've figured out a way to sync CiviCRM and PowerSchool (via autocomm). We'll use it to also load all the family information collected by Drupal/CiviCRM into PowerSchool
-
Our extended care management, attendance and billing system worked really well this spring semester. It is part of the CiviSchool module

Seattle CiviCRM User Group Meeting
Seattle CiviCRM User Group Meeting May 27th At Office Nomads
There seems to be growing interest in CiviCRM in Seattle. People want to know more about what it is, how it works and how they can harness the power for their clients or their own organizations. Recently at DrupalCon in San Francisco I ran a training on CiviCRM that was attended by a fellow Seattlite, and in the weeks just before that I was introduced to a few other folks in Seattle using CiviCRM. So it seems like it is time.

I'm not sure if this is a bug or I'm doing something wrong. (using latest civicrm 3.0 release)
What I want is a simple email only sign up form that, when submitted, links to a larger form that gives the user the option of providing more info. This way, if they don't want to do that, they have still joined the email list.
It seems like it should be really simple. One profile with just email which adds the user to a civimail group. Another profile with more fields that acts as the landing page for the first.

Read moreChange Tell a Friend Form to Add Email Subject?
I've googled quite a bit and haven't found anything about this. I would like to be able to add a Subject field to the "Tell a Friend" config form so that it will be used when sending the email.
I've been developing in Drupal for 6 years but am new to CiviCRM and don't grok how to "form_alter" CiviCRM forms... is this possible? An alternative would be to add a custom field to the contribution page settings and then pull that in the SubjectTemplate.tpl but I'm not sure how to pull in new data into the template in the proper way. Perhaps I'd have to do a db query directly from the tpl file?

We'll also be discussing the potential of advancing an advocacy toolkit that plugs into CiviCRM. And we'll have plenty of open discussion time to talk about our different experiences considering/trying/using/developing/etc. CiviCRM.

Recommendation for a VPS for hosting CiviMail
Does anyone know of a Civimail friendly VPS plans, one that already comes configured to work correctly -- or that you can request it and they know what you are talking about?
(BTW -- I haven't used CiviMail in about a year and I'm assuming it still needs a lot of custom server installs to handle bounce processing correctly. If this is no longer they case, please correct me)
Thank You,
Sam
Canvassing and Get Out The Vote (GOTV) features in CiviCRM
Political groups and campaigns have been some of the earliest users of CiviCRM (http://civicrm.org/). We've had quite a few political parties using CiviCRM: Green Party of New Zealand, Green Party of Canada, Oregon State Democrats, Vermont Progressive Party and even the Pirate Party of Germany! One of the features missing from CiviCRM has been Canvassing, GOTV, PhoneList and WalkList functionality. This has been long requested and there have been various specifications on the CiviCRM wiki (http://docs.civicrm.org/) for this.
