Read moreMy Acquia Certified Drupal Site Builder Story
I want to share my experience in taking the Acquia Certified Drupal Site Builder Exam. Few friends and colleagues have asked me to provide them with a list of materials I used to study. The truth is, I did not study using any specific material for the exam. I simply registered and wanted to use whatever knowledge of Drupal I have accumulated to take the test and see what it will look like. I passed scoring more than 90% which is fine for me. If you study, you may score 100%. This is my recommendation;

Appropriate Use Cases for Organic Groups
I've been coming to terms with organic groups for the past few months and feel like I'm trying to apply the wrong tool to for the job. One of the great, yet complicated, things about Drupal is that there are many ways to achieve the same result.
Personally I think Organic Groups has a lot to offer, but you can also go a long way down the wrong use case before opting for a more suitable choice.
One use case that I think we can all agree that if you want to create groups and create content that is only accessible to that group, then Organic Groups is your module.

As part of our "Designers Toolkit" we are going to put up an example site to show all of Drupal cores front end output. This is to show designers what Drupal is and what it can do. I've been jamming some ideas and come up with simple site brief for this and wanted to open this up for public discussion befor we move ahead and actually build this.
Read moreConsistent approaches to git documentation for site builders
I have been reviewing the various documentation (http://drupal.org/node/803746) and blog posts oriented towards site builders on this topic over the last few days, and it seems there are many very different recommendations a approaches to building sites with git. There is an opportunity here to shape some best practices that will both make everyone's lives easier in the long run, but also encourage contribution back to the community as a standard part of building any Drupal site.
Read morePackage names for contributed modules
Modules are grouped on the module administration page (admin/modules in Drupal 7) by Package. Sensible grouping can greatly enhance site builders' Drupal experience. (Package is defined, optionally, in our module's .info file.) As developers of contrib modules, we can come to this wiki page before choosing our package name to see what other thoughtful module developers have chosen for their package.
Read moreHOW to make a Drupal IntraNet ??! + social activist site building
Hi, missing a link to an informative page/wiki on the IntraNet group page; about ways to accomplish a Drupal IntraNet and pros & cons of different methods doing so? Just a guess; I tried if a "intranet" module exists and yes: http://drupal.org/project/intranet ... Next try, what more shows up under intranet? http://drupal.org/search/apachesolr_search/intranet
OK, now I get confused, so maybe I shouldn't install the intranet module..?

Basic beginner site building
Where does one begin? I do see several beginner oriented topics. I created pages, stories, blocks, blogs, forums, etc., individually. I've been looking at views. Should one just go to views to create the previous items? I learn ways to accomplish things and then later discover something else. Drupal keeps moving forward and improving. What are the tools and techniques one should use today?
Can there be a Drupal only focus? I've seen and heard other such discussions but they always get compounded with PHP, CCK, CCS, Javascript...... Are there differences for Windows users?
