Feedback needed on Drupal.org office hours!
For the past few months, we have been holding "Drupal.org Office Hours" on Mondays, for people who want to contribute to the Drupal project by improving the tools, design, and functionality of the Drupal.org web site (and the other *.drupal.org sub sites). Lately, the office hours have not been well attended, and we'd like to find out why.
Please fill out this short survey to help us understand how to make office hours more efficient.
Read moreGive DrupalCon attendees the option to update their registration using English characters
I have non-English characters in my name under my *.drupal.org profiles. However, at DrupalCon Denver 2012, these non-English characters couldn't get printed out on the badge; and it displayed "squares". Since DrupalCon is an international event, I believe I wasn't alone.
I suggest that for the future DrupalCon, if the printer won't be able to print out non-English characters, then DA sends an email to notify these attendees and give them option to update their registration using English-only characters.
Below is an email template from Google I/O:

Dear ******(******),
Creating a new Welcome Email for new Drupal account holders
At this time, when someone signs up for a Drupal account, they receive an email from info@drupal... to confirm their email address. I think we have an opportunity to get more information to these new Drupal account holders about the project along with a welcome guide.
I propose we consider an email to go after the account email is confirmed. It would be a helpful guide that includes some (or all) of the following:
You have an account, Now what?
-Download Drupal
-Check out Documentation
-Get some modules
-Ways to Get Involved
-Join the Drupal Association
Idea: annual competition to design the Drupal Association t-shirt
While discussing membership renew with the DA twitter account I had an idea: I'd love to have an annual renewal on my membership for the t-shirt offer that was added last year; however, rather than ending up with a dozen identical t-shirts, how about running an annual competition to have the forthcoming year's design?
The first question: was there plans to change the DA's official membership t-shirt each year?
The second question: time allowing, is this something the DA would be interested in?

One of the most important financial sources for Drupal Association are membership fees. They help fund community projects like DrupalCon scholarships, grants, Drupal.org improvements and more. Currently, there are 800,000 d.o user accounts and only 3,000 of them are Association members. We are looking for ways of increasing this number. If we can grow our membership we will be able to raise more money for various community projects, most importantly for Drupal.org itself.

Drupalcon Munich has a great graph that shows the dates when people submit sessions. Unfortunately (for event organizaers) a lot of it happens at the last minute.

This is a problem for session track chairs because they don't know if they'll have enough good sessions.
