Brevard County August Meetup Wrapup
The August Brevard County meetup was held last night in Melbourne at the offices of GMRS - thanks to Gil and his employer for hosting.
Gil provided a walkthrough of Drupal Commons - we decided it was a great starting point for a groups-based sites with lots of features out-of-the box.
We also decided to plan out the topics and presenters for the next five meetups. They are:

We had a new remote participant (Jason Graham) that sent me a Skype request before the meetup (my Skype ID is my first name concatenated with my last name).

We started the meeting by using a Skype conference call, and we used the Skype Share option (suggested by Jason)to share our desktops with each other (i.e. we did not have to use Yugma or TeamViewer).

Some days I really hate browsers. Today is one of those days. I have been working on a new theme for my main work website and things were going just peachy until yesterday. I have two rather strange issues that I am convinced are related to how I am employing my CSS.

Greetings, fellow Central Floridians.
My name is Tyme ("greta_drupal"). I live in N. Titusville, so the Melbourne meetups are a bit of a haul. But, just want to introduce myself here, at least. Have been a web developer for 10 years: Started with HTML/CSS and ASP. Not a programmer by trade or education, but a fairly good hack. I keep asking Drupal to accept my lovely ASP code, but it refuses. So, until I cross over to PHP, I'm not a module developer. And, frankly, I have yet to have a need for which there wasn't already a module developed.
August Brevard County Meeting
The fifth Drupal meetup in Brevard will take place on Thursday, August 12th, 2010 at 7pm.
The meeting will take place at 1507 Aurora Road in Melbourne at the offices of GMRS.
The projector we were using has a burnt out bulb and is not available to us. If you can provide please let me know.It actually works fine now.
2 things we can discuss are Drupal Gardens (now fully open) and the release of Drupal Commons. I'm open to talking about anything the group is interested in. Leave some suggestions in the comments. See you all there.
Read moreOrdering in Hierarchical Select
I've installed/enabled Hierarchical Select and it does just what I need on the form. Unfortunately the results are stored in the reverse order from what I need, i.e. the deepest item is returned first. They are grouped correctly, i.e. version, version, product, version, product, company, but I need them to be company, etc. How do I go about reversing this order? I've read the README for Hierarchical Select and the section on "Rendering hierarchy lineages when viewing content", but I'm pretty new to this and don't really understand what to do. Can someone help me out? Thanks.

Okay, so I created a drop down menu to list some links (I used views to create list). Anyway, I pieced together the drop down effect from a List Apart article and a couple of others I found online. To make a long story short, the drop down works as expected in FF and Chrome, etc. but (surprise!) its not working in IE. The drop down list falls behind other elements rendering the links useless.
Read moreOfficial Haitian Creole Translation Effort
There's now an official Haitian Creole translation effort at http://localize.drupal.org/translate/languages/ht
We have one site who is starting work on the translation - the more people we can get involved, the quicker it will go. If you're involved with a site and are (or know somebody who is) interested in contributing to a Haitian Creole translation, please get involved. The Localization Client module (http://drupal.org/project/l10n_client) makes it drop-dead easy (no, seriously) to get involved and contribute.
Read moreHow can I test if an argument is being passed to a view block?
I have a view that shows vehicles in a sidebar block based on the category page the user is currently on. For instance, if the user is on the Bloodmobiles page, bloodmobiles should display in the sidebar. As each new vehicle record is entered, the user selects what category of vehicle it belongs to and what series # it belongs to.

For those of you that use webenabled, watch out for this look-a-like phishing scam. I got it today and almost fell for it!

I considered posting this in the issue queue but it's been open for a year and a half and thought maybe someone here has fixed it.
I'm working on a contact page using Webform and have it set to email the submissions to appropriate email addresses. The problem is that they aren't being sent. I tried the workaround of blanking the From name but that didn't work either. I should have prefaced this with the fact that I have received other emails (such as the super user login info) just fine.
