CSS... you evil vixen... how you torture me...

I am having two seemingly minor CSS related issues. Hopefully someone will be able to point out where, exactly, I screwed the pooch.
Here is a link to the test page for the theme I am working on:
http://174.132.88.72/~mbitest/

1. On the top of the page (look for the black bar) I created an area called top-menu. I have four links in that menu. In IE all four links are displayed but in FF only the first and last links show up. Has anyone run into that problem before?

New Design and Upgrade for GatorTailgating.com (plus free beer)!

New Design & Upgrade for GatorTailgating.com (plus free beer)!

I wanted to share this with everyone because some of what went into this was learned directly from February's Drupal camp. We've put a lot of work into this (and went live with it last night 3/30/10), and some of the design elements would not have been possible without Drupal camp. I also really enjoyed some of the case studies, so I decided to do my own.

Share the wealth

Is anybody interested in volunteering an hour or two of their time to make the Florida DrupalCamp 2010 web site available for other Drupal user groups to clone?

Salim Lakhani from WebEnabled asked me if they could host an empty version of the site for anyone to clone for their own use. In order to do so, someone would have to do the legwork:

  • checkout the site's code and obtain a current DB backup
  • get the site up-and-running on their local machine

6.16 Update Weirdness

I recently updated my Drupal install from 6.14. to 6.16. I first updated the files to bring the install to 6.15 and then applied the second set of updates to bring the site current to 6.16. I also updated all of the modules to their current recommended version. I have updated at least three other sites using the same methods and did not have a problem until today.

I am seeing the following message when I log into the admin section:

* warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /includes/theme.inc on line 485.

Meetup in Broward

I there anyone interested in having a meetup in Broward county? The Miami and West Palm Beach camps seem to have their meetups scheduled on a regular basis now. Maybe the Broward meetup can be scheduled the second week of the month, since the Miami meetup is on the 24th(ish) of the month.

I work for a Microsoft shop, so I do not have a venue in mind, but we could always get things started at a Starbucks or something. I live in Pembroke Pines and work in Sunrise, so I am partial to southwest Broward, but I am open to a more central Broward location.

Meetup in Palm Beaches?

The Florida group page tells us that there is a regular monthly meetup for the Palm Beaches on the third Tuesday. I was excited to read this, because that meant that I would have really cool plans for tomorrow night! But alas, I find no other evidence in this group (or on Meetup.com, for that matter) that there is, or ever has been, a regular meetup here. Would anyone be interested in starting one?

P.S. I apologize if there's anything wrong with how I've submitted this discussion--for instance, if it goes to the wrong place--this is my first posting.

/drupal directory deleted

I'm about to throw up. I was trying to set up a user to have FTP access to the drupal directory to help out with some sites. I mounted the drupal directory to a subdir under his home dir. I was trying to start over and deleted his directory. Of course, I went to delete the drupal reference in his directory so I could delete his dir. Obviously, the wrong thing to do - it wiped out my whole drupal dir.

Finishing up the Junior Achievement site for Coding for a Cause

If anyone is interested in helping out finishing up the Junior Achievement site that was started during Florida DrupalCamp 2010, please either leave a comment below or contact me directly.

We only have a few tasks left, mainly involving theming.

We're hoping to finish up the site this week, with any final touches getting taken care of during next Saturday's Central Florida Drupal meetup.

Thanks,
-mike

Florida DrupalCamp 2010 Lessons Learned

Hey everybody,

I'd like to get some feedback about what we learned about organizing Florida DrupalCamp 2010. Rather than scheduling a conference call (you're welcome), I'm hoping we can get some valuable feedback here.

I'll get us started by saying that we definitely learned that having CFCS as our 501(c)3 sponsor organization made a HUGE difference in how we were able to handle the finances for the event. I don't think we could have pulled off such a big event without their help.

TPSQOD - Can you re-order nodes within a content type?

ThePocketgeek's silly question of the day... Can you re order nodes of a content type without getting freaky in the DB?

I know you can reorder nodes inside of a book but I was wondering if it were possible to create a content type and reorder the nodes created under that content type using the Admin section as opposed to tinkering inside the DB. I created a content type and I would prefer to order the nodes underneath so that when they showed up in a node reference I am using, they line up in the order I would like them to.

Brevard Meetup

Dare I dream?

After the surprising turnout of Brevard-based Drupalers at Florida DrupalCamp 2010, I'd like to see if we can get a monthly Drupal meetup going in Brevard.

How about we do something during the 2nd week of each month? I'm thinking Thursday nights in Cocoa Village.

Let me know if you're interested and if that day/time/location works for you.

Thanks,
-mike
